Storyteller Lodge
Such an amazing property with so much space to relax in. Kitchen was large enough for several family members to work together in, with lots of seating options. So many fun activities to enjoy in the well maintained yard.

Amazing stay for big families
This place was absolutely perfect for our family vacation! We had 20 of us, (10 adults and 10 kids) and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house and property were both beautiful and the little mountain town it was in was a perfect quiet family getaway! We will definitely keep our eyes on this place for a future trip! The owner was easy to work with and very responsive as well.

Can’t say enough
First and foremost, Makeli is by far the most communicative host I’ve ever had over 50+ rentals. The house is located in the most beautiful settings. Private, lovely, and secluded. Absolutely massive home, we had 20 guests total and couldn’t even fill the bedroom. Everyone mingled, played games, hung out.. it was great. Would never think twice about the property again. Highly recommend 10/10

Beautiful White Christmas
We are from Florida and half of the family had never experienced snow. We had a white Christmas for sure and the cabin with huge and open windows to see it all, made it fabulous. The kitchen was great for cooking, and worked perfect for our cupcake bake-off. There were several washers and dryers to accommodate my large family and was needed with drying things from the snow. The property size was perfect because the kids were able to play outside in the snow without us worrying. The kids enjoyed the slide on the property too and we made smores with the outdoor grill. The family enjoyed the cabin very much, but there was a request for more TVs and especially to have one in the main family area. Overall, I highly recommend this cabin to anyone because the property was clean, beautiful, spacious, and the owner was very pleasant. Thank you Makeli!

A Splendid Experience!
Storytellers Lodge is magical! My family gathered at the lodge to celebrate the 70th birthday of our matriarch. We enjoyed 4 days of fun, love, rest, rest, and recreation. The lodge is amazing! The grounds are perfect. The surrounding valley is beautiful and the people who live here are very kind. Special thanks to the owners for opening their property to us for a great experience!

Awesome Family Reunion!!!
Loved the grassy area in the back and the king size beds in every room! Great gathering areas inside as well for big groups. There was so much natural light coming in from the windows that family pictures were easy to get done. We had plenty of bathrooms and the manager was incredibly responsive to any issues we came up against. We would definitely stay again!

Record heat, great stay
Even though Southern Utah was in the middle of a heat wave, and experiencing record temps, our stay at Storyteller's was wonderful. We chose to cut back on some of our outdoor sightseeing, but still had a great time indoors, with all the space and ample things to do at the house and on the property.

The pictures do not do justice. More beautiful in person. All of our family walked in and were absolutely amazed. The kitchen is a dream. When you have 21 people there are a lot of dishes. We had those dishwashers running all the time. The bedrooms were furnished The host Makeli went way beyond to help make this a memorable experience for us. My wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary with our children/spouses and grandchildren. He made sure we had enough chairs to have a simple ceremony out in the amphitheater, which was a perfect location. Our photographer had so many locations to use on the property and in the house. On our way to the house from LA area we got aessage the chef had a family emergency and she was not going to make it. I asked Makeli if he knew anyone. He posted our dilemma on some networks to see if someone was available. This just shows the high caliber host Makeli is. We all want to go back. We had a wonderful time. All 21 of us.

Pine Calley Lodge is a beautiful place for a retreat!

Amazing!
A beautiful home and lodge....spacious and outstanding. We all enjoyed our stay and the beautiful surroundings both inside and out. Lots of space and areas to gather in large or small groups. Beds were comfortable and the many bathrooms made it perfect!

We loved the location. It was so peaceful. The people waved as we went by and were so helpful when we asked for directions. Beautiful valley! We really appreciated the welcoming gift basket of breads, cinnamon rolls, frosting, jams, chocolate chip cookies and truffle sweets. This is the very first time we have received a gift basket at any of the places we have stayed through the many years we have been having our family get togethers. We would go there again!

Family reunion
Wonderful support and communication from the property manager. The lodge was well appointed and spacious. A beautiful property! We also enjoyed a morning fishing at the nearby lake. Perfect place for a large group.

Our new favorite family reunion spot!
Perfect place for a family reunion! This place checks all the boxes! We absolutely loved our stay! The view from the main living area is breathtaking and so peaceful! With 26 people, we wanted a place that we could have a room and bathroom for each family to have their own space. The kitchen is so functional and storage and pantry space makes feeding a large crowd a breeze. The downstairs is every kids dream. They hardly wanted to come upstairs will all the fun they were having. Pine valley is a hidden gem and all the beautiful surroundings make it so much fun! Thank you for providing such an amazing home for our family to make memories. We will definitely be back!

Family gathering
The property was amazing we were there for three nights. This was a Christmas gift to my 7 children and 18 Grandchildren and everyone of them were there and we had a wonderful time . Weather was really nice for the first part of the trip and then we got a snow storm that dumped 6 inches of snow which we also enjoyed it was beautiful. The lodge and amenities were amazing we would definitely like to stay again. Only reason I gave four stars for cleanliness was windows were somewhat dirty not a deal breaker.

Amazing Stay!
We rented this property for a Christmas get-together for us, our children and grandchildren. The place is fabulous! From its very pleasing curb appeal to its interior filled with amazing log walls, high ceilings, fun game room, huge kitchen, and lots of beds and baths, it couldn’t be more perfect! We were even blessed with several inches of snow and were able to sled just a short distance away. If you want a very family friendly place where you can enjoy quiet and spending time with family, this place is for you! Thank you, Tom, for welcoming us into this special place you have created. Amazing!
We had our family there for thanksgiving. Grandparents and 7 of their children with all our grandchildren! Almost 40 of us! It fit us all well and we enjoyed every minute of it. We were blessed to get an amazing snowstorm while we were there, which allowed us to all stay together the whole time. The property manager was super responsive and came to get us out with a snow blower even though his own driveway was covered in snow and a tree was downed across it in the storm. The whole time very kind and asking what he can do to help. Thank you for the best thanksgiving we’ve ever had! My parents were so happy to be there with all their posterity in a place where the spirit of family was so strongly felt. My mother cried out of happiness seeing all her family so happy and having so much fun. Thank you for giving us that.

Baird Family Vacation
The home was very roomy, very well stocked, very spacious, and overall very nice. The 19 grandchildren had a great time with lots of room to run, biking and hiking trails in the area, fishing, and a great game room. The scenery was great too. Mike Pickett (the property mgr) was extremely helpful and friendly.

Family Reunion 2019
Beautiful rental home. Perfect.size for our family reunion. We enjoyed spending time with our six married children, their spouses and families. Every couple had their own room and the bunk bed rooms provided a place for cousins to spend more time togethrt. We.hiked in the Dixie National Forest, had a family talent show, and deckrated crafts outside. The kitchen was great and allowed us to prepare, cook, eat and clean-up.together. somewhat isolated, but if your family enjoys time together this lodge in Pine Valley.has our strong recommendation.

A beautiful place to make memories!
We had our family reunion with lots of kids. The downstairs game area was awesome kept everybody busy and preoccupied so we could cook cook cook up stairs! We spent a lot of time playing in the snow and enjoying the sunshine on the back deck. The property was beautiful and well taken care of! Thank you so much for the memory , we will be back next year!

The Family Lodge is for families to make new memories. We love seeing families return for more togetherness. Staying at the Family Lodge during the NOT SO BUSY seasons can be a great value. Make it a long weekend with as many of your family members as can make it!

A real getaway
Beautiful lodge, well maintained and family friendly. Our family of 32 were very comfortable. But, this property is secluded. If you wish to run to the store it’s a drive to Veyo (limited) or St. George (45 min). Hiking and game time were great. But limited water use during a draught was a set back. Overall very nice facility in a somewhat isolated area.
