“For reference, I’m a Hilton Gold Member and my opinion of this independent hotel (closest to the Appomattox Surrender Grounds National Park) is that it’s very much on par with a Hampton Inn as far as rooms, decor, amenities and pricing. (But not the cookies) This is my fourth stay here at this hotel and I promise you will not be disappointed.”

“If you plan to go to this area frankly there is no better alternative. From the charming rooms and staff to the excellent meals, Babcock is a great place to stay.”

“We have been staying here for the last few years. This was our first time in the 'original' side of the hotel. Two issues this time. Not one time did we get housekeeping to change towels. We were there 4 nights. Tried calling but no answer. Also, I do hope the beds are updated by our next visit. Way too soft or worn out. My husband and I both had back aches at the end of our stay. Everything else was good.”

“The room (mostly the bathroom) was not very clean. There was hair on the floor and in the shower upon our arrival. The rest of the room seemed ok except for the spider webs in the corners of the windows. The front desk, cleaning and maintenance staff were great. Parking was easy and convenient. The breakfast spread was pretty good and they constantly had water available in the lobby. The property was well maintained and the pool chairs and area were kept in great shape.”

“Clean rooms, a littler small but very comfortable and prepared with all things you may need. The staff very friendly. Parking accessible. I recommend for sure. ”

“$10 to park—keep in mind this is not a big city, it’s in an industrial area and was nothing but an UNDISCLOSED cash grab. $30 hold for incidentals that I had to call to be refunded, most hotels just hold a card on file. No breakfast. Ice machine was broken. Gym was broken and closed. Hallways smelled like weed and walls were paper thin. This was unlike any other Courtyard I’ve ever stayed in and I will never be back. Super 8-level hotel with Courtyard price.”
