I thought that the Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda was an excellent hotel for the price the beach wasn't great but that wasn't so bad because the lagoon was close by in the beach next door was good I would definitely recommend it

El hotel fue bueno, la comida está más o menos, la pena es que para poder comer en los restaurantes tienes que hacer reservación y no tienen cupo, los restaurantes ninguno que yo sepa tiene aire acondicionado y hace bastante calorcito, pero fuera de eso todo bien.

My stay was unpleasant. My room smelled like sewage, the sliding glass door didn’t lock as I was on the 1st floor. There were fruit flies in the room. The fridge didn’t work, and there was no iron in the room. I asked the front desk 3 times to be moved, but nothing happened. Also, the food wasn’t good. I will not be returning to the resort.

The staff food and service were good. The entire resort did not have air conditioning. The room was often hot without working A/C. Also the elevator didnt work.

For a last minute reservation, this property was great. It was clean and friendly, but busy. If you are there during a busy season, you must wake up early to stake your claim for a sun chair. It gets really crowded at both pools. Also, if you want room service, you should order it early. It gets pretty busy and I never got a response. Thats not a no-no...just it is what is was. Great time!

It was a bit difficult to communicate as the staff didnt know a lot of English. Our room phone didn't work and we had to complain about it multiple times to get it looked at and then the employee who came to look at didn't even fix it. They deliver a form to thank you for coming on your last night and call one of 2 extensions to get picked up for check-out, except when you can't call because your phone still doesnt work. We had stopped at the desk in the morning to schedule a pick-up for our luggage (then they told us to call...again) and then they didn't show up and we had to attempt to find one of the cleaning staff to radio for a bellboy (twice) and almost missed our airport transportation. The pool was fabulous! Highly recommend bringing apool float. The food was good, especially the fresh guac and there were plenty of drinks.

Loved the people working in the many areas. Everyone friendly and accommodating. Loved the energy of the Pool Entertainment Team. Only thing we didn’t like was with a lack of Pool Chairs we had to get up extremely early. With the size of the Pool it was not a lack of space. Just lack of chairs.

Our stay was wonderful. The staff and facilities were impeccable. We had a great time and would definitely visit again. We have noting negative to say but would add that there should be a hotel shuttle to the resort from the airport. The taxi was very expensive and unexpected.

We had to switch rooms. The second room was fantastic.. The staff was great. Food not to impressed. There was not a clear itinerary that was on site. You had to hunt to find things to do. They should have something in the rooms that tells you everything about the resort. Overall it was ok. Will not go back but it was ok. The timeshare presentation actually was good. They didn’t try to sell me. They presented all the information and let me make an educated decision.

The hotel does not have enough chair or lounge chairs next to the pool or on the beach. To get shade, we had to spend hours in the pool swimming under the pool bridges. There was next to no air conditioning in the restaurants and entertainment area. This made it uncomfortable to eat in the buffet

It's a decent resort. Good food, gym, landscape, pool area, a lot of activities at the pool. My room was connected to the room next to me and i could hear everything coming from that room. The beach was nice but ocean was full of sea weed. I had to walk for about 5-10min to the beach next to our resort with way nicer ocean. Not a big deal but inconvenient. Also the transportation from the airport to the resort and back costs $160.

The staff work really hard to make sure guest are comfortable and happy with their stay. This is not a 4 star resort and the rooms are outdated and need updating, but the room was clean, had air conditioning, hot water, clean linens, and the bed was comfortable. The food was not good, but it was edible and okay. This isn’t the staff’s fault whoever owns the place need to offer better menus, and better food options. The staff can only offer what they’re given. They did have several vegetarian options which I was pleased about. The Italian restaurant is where we had the best meal. The drinks are watered down, so be prepared to buy your own booze at the airport if that’s your thing. We were greeted with a cocktail and checked in by the concierge, who also booked all of our dinner reservations. What I did not appreciate was was waiting forever to check in. Now I know check in is at 3:00 PM but I’ve never had to wait more than an hour before check in at ANY resort or hotel and I travel a lot. If you know guess are arriving early, then there should be a room ready at least an hour before the check in time. But they tried to make up for it and were very accommodating the whole stay. For the money it was worth it and the grounds were really beautiful! This place has the potential to be a really great place. I heard there’s a new owner and hopefully he or she will invest and update the rooms and change the menus. Overall I had a good time and we enjoyed our stay.

A pesar de que llegamos a las 3 pm, no nos entregaron el cuarto como hasta las 5 pm por que no lo tenían listo. No hay carritos suficientes para trasladar a las personas dentro del resort y te hacen caminar largas distancias. De salida tuvimos que caminar hasta el lobby con todo y maletas por que no llegaba el carrito por nosotros al cuarto. En el restaurante me sirvieron café en una taza que tenia labial de alguien mas y los platos que te ponen en el buffet para agarrar comida estaban sucios.

Overall a good vacation with 3 teenagers. The property does need renovations, but did check most of the boxes we like. There was daytime entertainment/activities and varying nightly shows (Disney night, Mexican, fireshow…) There were several evening restaurants plus 3 buffets and 2 snack stops. We liked Mexican, Italian, French. (We do not recommend steakhouse or seafood). 3 large pools with lively background music. Close to several golf courses. Has a separated kids club with pool plus a zero entry on main pool. Staff were friendly and work hard Downsides: we did not use the beach, it was full of sargassum. The lobby, entertainment and buffet are a LONG walk to the beach/pool. They did have shuttles, but not enough. (If you like walking, very asthetic!) 24 hour bar gets loud. They could use another bar and washroom by the pools; Line ups constant between 11-5. Not enough shade coverage or chairs. (If you reserve chairs in the morning, stay with it or they will take everything away). Prebook a ride. Booking through Expedia I didn’t have a shuttle option and we taxied when we arrived for $260 USD! And finally wifi was terrible. I usually work during vacations and couldn’t due to connectivity problems. Under new ownership - please add more lawn chairs, umbrellas, keep hiring, keep improving chefs, fix up bathrooms and mirrors, get a shuttle bus to the airport, and do whatever you need to have functioning wifi (today’s world needs it!). This resort has lots of potential.

Para mí fue el peor hotel en el que hemos estado empezamos por el aire la primer noche dormimos sin aire acondicionado porque no funcionaba y mantenimiento hasta siguiente día fue en la noche en segundo término el elevador de palenque sin luz y se quedó trabado con nsotros arriba . Las habitaciones sin señal 3g 4g o 5g y si no fuera poco el wifi no funciona. Los carros de golf las distancias son súper largas y solo usan 3 carritos para todos entonces nunca había carros disponibles . EL ROOM SERVICE TE DECÍAN QUE EN 45 MINUTOS Y TARDABA dos horas en llegar y la comida fría . NO VOLVERÍA A HOSPEDARME NUNCA Y EL EQUIPO DE CONGIERGE SÚPER PREPOTENTE NADA SERVICIAL

Overall was ok. They wasted my time for around 3 hours to make me buy a package for 100 nights at their resort. Basically they told me, they are going to give me $500 voucher for next stay but after it they said you need to open a credit card to get that. If they offer you to show you around the resort please avoid it, because the seller agent will bother you for 3 hour to make you buy thier vip packages.

The beach area on the particular resort is brutal. It was honestly like a pond. All closed in by wave breaks. We would not have booked this spot if we had known other than that the staff were great and food was ok. If your beach area is that terrible, you should be able to get a drink at the next resorts. This is where we spent most our time( on their beaches)
