Excellent and economical when comparing to similar properties ON the beach. Master Bedroom has a bit of a musty smell but plenty of fresh air so it was easy to air out. Great location! Kitchen had everything we needed.

Location was perfect! House was super clean. It’s an older home and could definitely use some updated kitchen necessities that weren’t all rusted and unusable. Perfect for a family that doesn’t do a lot of cooking but that was our biggest deterrent. A big reason for renting this home was the fenced in area for toddlers to play, however, the yard is full of sticker burs. Check in and out was super easy and the ladies there were very communicative.

Beautiful Retreat

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful views, very relaxing and spacious accommodations. Only problem we encountered was the patches of grass burs in the yard. We did have a problem with the stove but maintenance man arrived promptly and fixed it. Overall, a great oceanfront retreat.

This wonderful home has all the amenities for a lovely stay. Furnishings are a little worn. Extras like blankets were scare and the WIFI was dreadful! (We used hot spots more than we ever have at a VRBO) But everything worked great. My complaint is that it didn’t have the extra special things that make a rental from an owner lovely - like instructions for appliances, or a book of fun things to do in the area, or menus for local restaurants. It definitely had a “corporate rental” feel. But it’s right on the beach with a private access gate to miles and miles of wonderful sand. It is close to Galveston, but feels much more laid back than Galveston (a free and frequent ferry ride away). And for seeing gators and turtles and other wildlife, the Jocelyn refuge can’t be beat!

Pleasant Surprise

Four days before our check in we were informed our vacay rental would not be ready due to hurricane repairs. Mimosa Cove was one of the alternate choices. Incredible location, beautiful decor, clean, stocked and open spaces.

Two Week Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at this budget friendly rental. The location is right on the beach and only a short drive to stores and restaurants. The Nauti Beaver Hut is a fun place to hang out with fun activities and good music on the weekends. Tia Juanita’s is a must for us when we stay in Bolivar! If you are bringing small dogs, the gate at the driveway has gaps they can get through, so I recommend bringing something to put in front of it. There are sticker burrs so wear shoes when walking through the yard to the beach.

Spacious and Comfy Beach House

We could see the waves from the comfort of the couch as well, so even on the day that it rained and was a bit chilly, we were still able to enjoy the ocean. The house had lots of puzzles and games which came in handy on the rainy day.We loved that it was fairly secluded - though there are other houses around, there is a lot of space between everything.One of the selling the points for us was the fact that it was dog-friendly and had a big fenced-in yard. Unfortunately, the yard was full of stickers - so be aware if you bring a pup! There is a path that leads from the house to the beach, which was fairly sticker-free - and our dog learned pretty quickly to stay on it.Overall a great house and would stay again.

We found plenty of treasures including sharks teeth, sea glass and intact seashells. Loved the fenced in yard for our fur babies. Although a two bedroom, the living area and kitchen are spacious and the second bedroom is huge. Kitchen has ample cookware. Camelot is our new favorite.

We just got back from our family stay at Camelot. I give this property 2 out of 5 stars. The location is amazing. It’s quiet and peaceful. Views from the deck are great. The beds were comfy and we felt like everything was fairly clean. Right on the beach and pet friendly. Loved bringing our dogs to play. Overall a fun trip. The property itself needs some serious TLC. The toilet broke while we were there and we had to fix that. The dryer didn’t work. You couldn’t even turn it on. The grill was completely rusted and unusable. The floor is very warped in places. We kept thinking we were going to go right through it. The cabinets as well seemed very warped and coming unscrewed in places. You can’t open any windows. The screens were busted up and windows wouldn’t open properly. The deck had large holes in them (missing rails) big enough where it was a concern for dogs and kids to fall off. The lights didn’t work under the house so you were completely in the dark when parking at night. Do not plan to do any major cooking here. Very limited supplies. No Tupperware, no pot holders, no colander, and no crockpot. The WiFi is very spotty. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. Not a huge issue as we were gone a lot but was frustrating at night. The outside furniture is non existent. Table below the property had one broken chair. Table upstairs had broken chairs and was rusted out. This would be a great property but needs some care and some maintenance.

Our Favorite Place on the Bolivar

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love the Camelot! This was the 4th year in a row that we have stayed in this wonderful home on the beach. The location is perfect. It is just steps from the water. You can sit on the balcony and look at the water or walk down and be right on the beach. It is pretty private. There are no close neighbors. There is a beautiful view out of every window. The Camelot is also affordable. This trip we stayed three weeks and were still not ready to leave. As a matter of fact, we are ready to go back. The staff at Cobb Real Estate are always very helpful. They go above and beyond to make sure our stay is great every single time. The Camelot is so great that I really don't want to review it because I am afraid to get the word out and not be able to book this fabulous place because if more people knew, it would always be fully booked. LOL Thank you Cobb for everything!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed at this property before and it met my expectations. This year, it did not. I realize that the owners nor the real estate people have no control over the hurricanes, but the main reason I rented this property is for the yard. I paid $100 extra to bring my dog. About 2 days before my arrival, I was told that the fence was down and could not be repaired. We went anyway. It was a lot of work walking my dog each time they needed to go outside. The stairs are brutal!Also, there is a rotted place in the floor by the locking door. Also the underpinning has plywood and insulation missing from a year and a half ago.Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

The location was so good, sit on the terrace and enjoy the sunrise and sunset, and for a swim in the sea, just a step away. The Big Store had everything you needed for the holiday, we cooked a few dinners in the house, and went out to eat at Stingaree, and Jose's, highly recommended. As we are bird watchers this is a perfect place to be, lots of birds by the house, not far to Bolivar flats, Anahuac, Smiths Point. We recommend this house, and will gladly come back another time. Thanks :-)

When we arrived yesterday, we were tremendously impressed that it was even more welcoming than ever. Please thank whoever was responsible for getting the house clean and inviting, with sheets already on the bed, towels and washcloths arranged in the bathrooms ~ even a supply of toilet paper, trash bags and dish/dishwasher detergents in a "goodie bag" on the kitchen counter. We were thankful that you had managed to mow the lawn, despite all the recent rains. As you know, the fence around the property is precarious at best. However we are appreciative of whoever propped it up with six large pieces of lumber to hold it in place for a while longer. There wasn't a chain on the main gate, and I had to dig the gate to the beach out of sand that prevented it from closing. However, I was able to secure both gates with bungee cords, so I'm confident the dogs can't escape. Thanks for being such an awesome property manager. We are very appreciative!

The Camelot Is Our Favorite Place To Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely love staying at the Camelot In Caplen on the Bolivar Peninsula in Texas. The location is the best all around because it is so close to the water and you aren't surrounded by neighbors. It is very private. The beach in front isn't crowded. The house has great views from the windows too. You can sit on the back balcony and see the ocean and sit on the front balcony and see the intercoastal waterway. The house is clean and designed with an open concept. Plenty of room for my husband and I along with our family who came to stay with us one of the weekends we were there. We stayed almost three weeks and still weren't ready to leave. Cobb Real Estate is the absolute best to work with. They go above and beyond. Airbnb and VRBO don't give you a beach bag and the best lip balm ever. We have stayed here several years and never once have we had any problems. The truth is I really don't want to review this property because it is a hidden gen and I am afraid to get the word out in fear of not being able to find it available when we want it. LOL But I promise you will love Cobb Real Estate and the Camelot.

The location is great, furniture is comfy, fully stocked with just about anything you could need. Love the fence and size of yard; just wish the sticker burrs weren’t everywhere!!!
