Pedal boat available for guest use! A public boat launch is just a few miles down the road. Explore historic Port Royal, Virginia. Enjoy nature walks and keep an eye out for some of the resident animals – this area is a sanctuary for bald eagles! Wildlife abounds. Yummy eats at the last of the original Horne’s diners, and a number of other local restaurants nearby.

Enjoy the tranquility of the Rappahannock River and the quiet of nature. Relax in the Adirondack chairs and watch the river go by. Bring binoculars for bird-watching from the large patio. Fishing on the River
Our family stayed here for a weekend trip. The cottage allowed me to fish in the evenings/nights and wasn’t too far of a drive for places my wife and kids enjoyed (Fredericksburg and Kings Dominion). I chose this place so I could catch catfish out of the Rappahannock River and had great success. In two days/nights I caught over 50 Blue Catfish. Would definitely stay here again.

We were not ready to leave!
This was the perfect getaway! To start, Elyse was always ready to answer any questions I had about the property and any other questions I had. She is very helpful. The instructions for check in were very clear and easy to follow. When we got there, driving up and seeing the river was so exciting. The cottage was so warm and welcoming. Perfect space for us two. We loved sitting on the patio and listening to the birds and the water from the river. We were so relaxed here. The crab shack was so adorable. Everything was so thoughtfully placed. The neighbors were so nice. It was all around an amazing stay. We can not wait to come back and celebrate again next year!

Valentine's Getaway
I returned to P&E for a micro getaway with my husband. And it was just MAGICAL. The tranquility you'll find at this property is unmatched. The views are incredible and the accessibility to amazing food is invaluable. You won't find a more gracious and accommodating host than Elyse. If I needed anything she was so fast to respond! Book with them! You won't be disappointed.

Sweet Spot!
Clean and comfortable and the owner is so nice. Beautiful, peaceful views. Photos and description are accurate. Good water pressure and firm bed. Convenient to local antique shops and a few good restaurants.

Perfect Spot
Just as advertised, this was the perfect spot for quiet and beauty. Though you have neighbors, it's still very private. The view is amazing. The owner was gracious and helpful when I couldn't figure out the keypad. Look forward to going again!
