  • The California Condor was a common sight along the Columbia River in Lewis and Clark's day. By the early 1980's, there were only twenty-two left on the face of the planet, all in California. Today, thanks to a massive effort to re-populate the species via in-captivity pairing, there are some two-hundred members. But their recovery is far from assured. The Oregon Zoo has undertaken its own recovery effort whose ultimate goal is the re-introduction of the species into the protected wilderness area around the Columbia River Gorge. In short, to bring them home. For now, they live out their days in a vast, outdoor aviary designed specifically to mimic their habitat in the wild. If you have never seen one up close before, I urge you to come take a look. They are larger than any flying bird you will ever see, unless you go to Peru. And though black and white practically from head to toe, their plumage shines and reflects the light like dark, polished metal. If that doesn't suit your fancy, I will tell you that, as with all big birds, if you wait around long enough, they will do something so awe-inspiring that it will take your breath away, and something so goofy that you will laugh out loud. Lovely retreat

My husband and I had a relaxing stay at this lovely apartment. The rooms were spacious with lots of windows and skylights. The property is surrounded by beautiful gardens and a creek. The kitchen and bathroom had all the necessities. I highly recommend.

Home Away From Home

This spot is in a lovely neighborhood and perfect for a couple or a small family. We used the sofa bed for a family member and it was very comfortable. It was perfect overflow lodging for our large family Thanksgiving holiday at my daughters home nearby. I would stay again.

An excellent choice for a stay in the Beaverton area.

This VRBO spot is located in a very nice neighborhood where you can walk around admiring yards and towering trees. It is quiet, well equipped and has comfortable bedding and towels. Kirk was very friendly with us. We would definitely stay here again.

Oregon Stay

It was nice and quiet in the neighborhood. There's a private road to the house where you can park your car, but it is not on their driveway but right next to the drivewat(they allowed loading and and unloading by the rental entrance). The rental is connected to the house on top of the garage, but like the owner said, there's a private entrance and is contactless checkin/checkout. We forgot our shampoo but luckily it was provided along with conditioner, soap, and lotion. They have all the basics that were needed to travel-blow drier, towels, iron, toiletries, furnished kitchen. I felt very comfortable and safe there. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
