Hotell i Póvoa de Lanhoso

"The hotel was probably one of the best when opened. Now it has gone some years and the rooms have started to wear down. Golden pleating on things as bathrooms buttons etc have worn off making it look not so nice. Above my headboard there were lots of handprints, high all over the wall. This made me quite uncomfortable. I know a lot of people use hotels for various activities, but I don’t like to be shown so graphically what has been going on. Either the hotel needs better cleaning or a remodel because the freshness of it has worn off. If remodeled, please stop with the separate hot and cold faucets. They never kept the temperature and it was a constant waiting and juggling for water to not be burning hot or cold. Said that I did feel very welcomed and relax upon arrival. The hotel itself is beautiful with a lot of attention to detail(initially). One other thing that bugged me was the big mat in the common area that was crooked and no one seemed to notice. A little thing, that brought down the impression. Breakfast, I preordered vegan breakfast, even double checked with staff the day before it was all sorted. Come morning, and there is no vegan breakfast. Kitchen has not been informed. Had dry bread with only jam(there was milk in the butter)as my only option for spread. They did sauté some vegetables for me, but I would have preferred a standard breakfast. Breakfast staff didn’t speak English and communicated with everyone in Portuguese regardless of nationality. "

"The beds were harder than bricks. I love a hard bed but this was ridicoulus. The room was ok. I was kind of late to breakfast but still 45 min to go and it was hardly anything left. I don't eat much for breakfast but if you do... go earlier. "
