âSolar da Capela is very clean hospitable family hotel. They went out of their way to assist. We came to Sao Padro de Sul mainly for Thermal pools. We went to many places where we enjoyed thermal pools for a whole day, but this place only allow one hour at high price. This kills small hotel business. For the hotel , we will stay again, highly recomended. â
âExcelente atenciĂłn de su dueño. Muy familiar y atento a todas las necesidades. Estuve con la familia y la pasamos muy bien . VolverĂa a repetir sin duda. â
âComplicated self check-in with several security codes. No one on site to assist. Local phone number not helpful for international travelers. Worst is the smell of the rooms... musty, basement rooms... left window open, blew fan AC all night which made it slightly better. Would NOT recommend. â
âTop score for the hotel. Clean. Good breakfest. Good service. The nature on top of Sierra Da Freita is just amazing ! But, we miss a restaurant for evening dinner. Far to drive to eat after you are tired walking all day in the mountains. Understand it could be a economical challenge. However we will definately stay there next time.â

"The hotel looks like a medieval castle but was actually built in the late 1800. There's a wow factor when approach the hotel. And some of the common areas are impressive such as the dining room. The young gentleman at the reception was very kind and helpful. And the surrounding forest is beautiful.
But the positives stop there. The problem is the hotel is falling apart. And the owners don't care. Wallpaper peeling off all over the place. Dirty bathroom och bathtub. Toilet doesn't flush properly. The cleaning staff must find paper and worse floating in the bowl every time they clean the room.
The staff in the restaurant is like Faulty Towers. Running here and there nervously, arguing with each other, throwing food on the table and running away again. We actually had a good laugh at it all, but considering the price and low quality of the food it's a disgrace.
Go here, look at the hotel and forest, but then leave and stay and eat elsewhere. "
