âLovely hotel, our room was great and breakfast fantastic. Didnât use the pool, fitness centre or spa so canât comment but they looked nice. Did do a 7km walk run on one of the recommended routes around the hotel which was very scenic. Weâll definitely return when the build is finished and new restaurant is open.â
âThe hotel staff were lovely, we were upgraded to a deluxe room with a hot tub, as it was my partners 50th birthday. Also a lovely touch, a bottle of prosecco waiting in the room with a card.

âWe really enjoyed our stay at The Fox Hall Inn. Our room was modern, spotlessly clean, comfortable, good value for money, and the free continental breakfast (delivered to our room) was an added bonus!
The staff were welcoming and attentive and it was the perfect stop off for a couple of nights whilst visiting Barnard Castle, about 10 minutes away by car.
I think a car would be needed to reach the property, but I am unsure of the local bus service.

âThe location is a perfect ten, but the staff was far from good. First of all, it took us 1.5 hours to check in, and we didnât sense any effort to speed up the process. There was a complete lack of willingness from the staff to make our experience enjoyable.
Our room was also dirty, which unfortunately aligned with the poor check-in experience.
The Tan Hill has the potential to be amazing. It has everything going for itâexcept the staff, who failed to make our stay pleasant.â
âThe Grassington Lodge is truly minimalist. A very small room, two bath towels, and one hand towel. For the third of three nights they added a bath mat and a bar of soap.
The only staff ever present was the cleaning lady and her assistant. She was kind and helpful but certainly not enough to welcome and assist guests. â
âIncredible location and experience, nothing is too much trouble, the service from the staff is friendly and attentive, overall a fabulous experience.â

Excellent location for walk into town and the race course.
