Uruguay, most homes – including this accommodation – use electric water heaters to heat water. Unlike other countries such as Brazil (where electric showers are used) or Argentina (with gas boilers), hot water here is not unlimited.
The water heater works like a water heater: it stores a certain amount of water that it keeps warm by means of a heating element. Depending on the size of the equipment, the hot water available can be enough for: • 1 long shower, • 2 short showers in a row, • or 3 short showers if they are done with a break between one and the other.
