“Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The cottage was clean, comfortable and homely and the gardens and animals were just delightful. We had our first stargazing opportunity here as bad weather had put pay to our plans in all dark sky areas. We had a wonderful and memorable experience at The Jolly Poacher.”

“Ngahere Hou was the perfect stop over for us while mountain biking the QC track. Ian was extremely welcoming and provided an awesome relaxing stay for us topped off with a hot tub and pizzas. Would highly recommend!”

"Nice clean hotel with great views and friendly staff. We had dinner at the restaurant but unfortunately it was not for us - everything was sickeningly sweet and completely unsalted. I’ve come to realize that salt is not much used in new zealand but this was the worst so far, unsalted fish drenched in sweet chili sauce. Unless you are a kiwi used to this kind of seasoning I recommend you dine elsewhere."
