Quiet home on horse farm, halfway between Paducah & Wickliffe. Close to 60 & 286

Built originally in the 40s by my father-in-law for his new bride, this home raised my husband and his four siblings. The property has been owned by this family since the 1880s. It was a general farm, then a dedicated dairy farm until the early 1990s. When the dairy operation sold out, we bought the home place and some surrounding acreage. My daughter and her husband now live down near the barns and manage it as an equine facility. We live a few miles away. The Redhouse is between Highways 60 and 286, easily gotten to from highway 2532(County Line Rd), which connects the two state highways. The house has a Ring camera at the front door now. No cameras inside.

We loved our stay in this country location. It was quiet and peaceful yet close enough to Paducah for shopping and restaurants. The home was spotless, and every amenity was available - basic kitchen supplies (mixer, oil, sugar, spices, and much more), lots of towels and blankets and pillows, wifi and TV, washer and dryer, and more I'm probably not thinking of.It was very cold and snowy during our visit, so we made the home a cozy place to watch movies and relax. We even had our three small dogs with us, and there was lots of yard space to walk them.If you visit here, don't miss the National Quilt Museum. It's not your grandmother's quilt - it's amazing fabric art! Oh, and we found a vegan restaurant we liked: Branch Out.Definitely recommend staying here!!!

Second time staying. Still have all positives to say! Wonderfully quiet place for a get away weekend. Well stocked kitchen and items in refrigerator to use for making breakfast included. Details have been thought about for guests. Host is very responsive!

Everything was so easy and just perfect. Breakfast and coffee/tea/juice were a great additional touch which we appreciated fully. Comfy bed and furnishings, too. It's so quiet out in this lovely country house, though not far from town either--just perfect!

Another lovely stay at this property while visiting family in Paducah. Very remote, quiet, surrounded by farmland. Fine for our purposes as we only needed a place to sleep. Clean, neat, comfy. We found this home on Vrbo while our bathroom was being remodeled, and to our surprise, it turned out to be absolutely perfect for us. Tucked away in the peaceful countryside, it was an ideal spot—especially with our small dog in tow. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and very accommodating.The beds were wonderfully comfortable, the entire home was spotless, and we loved the welcoming touches—snacks on arrival and a dozen fresh farm eggs waiting in the fridge were such a treat. Communication with the owner was excellent from start to finish. When our contractor needed a few extra days to finish the project, they were incredibly flexible and kind in extending our stay.We couldn’t have asked for a better place or a more gracious host. Highly recommended!

Mature Trees, Sounds of Nature, Getaway on a working Farm

I walked around the property one morning and saw mature and diverse Trees (in various stages of growth and some even with fruit), Grapes growing on a fence, Hens, and more. The house is spacious with beautiful artwork and decor.I was also able to have a tour of the current farming operations, and learn some of its history too!I do plan to return.

Quaint and quiet little house

The Red House is in a quiet area and was well stocked with any and everything you might need. The host even provided fresh eggs and muffins for breakfast!!! If we are ever back in the area we will stay here again.

One of my favorite places to stay.

This little house is my favorite place to stay near Paducah. The house is old, but is very well maintained and super clean. The owners obviously take very good care of this little place. The only caution is the stairs. You have to be able to climb stairs to get in, and one bed room and the laundry area are accessible by stairs. The property is close enough to Paducah, but is out in the country in a beautiful part of the county. The hosts make check in and check out really easy, and do a fantastic job managing this little place.

Absolutely Charming

This farmhouse has been meticulously and thoroughly remodeled and updated. It is spotlessly clean and decorated so well. It is quiet and pastoral. One morning during our dog walk, 15 deer ran through the front yard. We spent 4 lovely nights here.
