For a very reasonable fee, Marco met me at the airport and took me on a tour of Funchal. The accommodation is more than adequate. Quiet and very private. “A very nice and comfortable hotel, we stayed in the building nearest to the ocean and could hear the sound of the waves, wonderful! A large room, nice balcony, clean outdoor pool, good breakfast, friendly staff! The bus stop (and the stop for the airport bus) is at the entrance. The best fish restaurant in town is round the corner. The bathroom misses a good shampoo and body lotion, we bought our own. During breakfast be quick to take all the tastiest items because they will be over without...

"Vi var tre par som bodde fem nätter på Reid's Palace i augusti 2025. Klassiskt hotell med klassisk charm! Vi var alla sex personer otroligt nöjda. Bra läge med fantastisk personal. Maten var otroligt bra. Vi åt på två av restaurangerna. Frukosten är också fantastisk. Trevligt poolområde, enkel tillgång om man vill bada i havet. Jag har noterat att en del gäster klagat på att hotellet är daterat, visst badrummen är inte supermoderna, men det är kvalitet och otroligt välunderhållet. Men om man tror att det här är skall vara ett modernt Dubai hotell, så bor man på fel ställe. Ibland när man bor på fem stjärniga hotell så kan det vara så snobbigt att man nästan känner sig obekväm, så var det absolut inte på Reid's, här kände man sig välkommen och trevligt bemött överallt. Om vi åker tillbaka till Madeira så kommer vi absolut bo på det fantastiska Reid's Palace igen! Tack till alla i personalen för en fantastisk vistelse! Ni förvaltar ert arv väl! "
