Klara's Villa NYT lyxigt privat hus på en vacker gård på södra Island

  • På vår gård har vi detta nya lyxiga privata hus. Det är bekvämt för fyra till sex gäster, perfekt för familjer och vänner. Du har hela huset för dig själv. Det är en bra bas om du tänker utforska södra Island. Två sovrum båda med två enkelsängar och en bekväm sovsoffa.

    Gäster är välkomna att gå runt gården och säga hej till våra djur. Vi har hästar, får, kycklingar, katt och en vänlig hund. Vi matar djuren två gånger om dagen (okt-maj) på morgonen runt 9 och på eftermiddagen runt 7 pm. Om du är intresserad är du välkommen att gå med oss! Vi lever på gården så vi är ofta hemma och kan hjälpa dig om det behövs. I maj får vi cirka 30 lamm och i juni odlar vår Mare ett föl :)

    På vintern (september till mars) har vi ofta norrsken som dansar över oss, eftersom vi är borta från stadens ljusförorening. Optimalförhållandena för norrsken på Island är: Vintersäsong Mörka Klar Skies Stilla Väder Många Ljusförorening Korrekt Solar Wind Aktivitet

    Vi ligger 10 minuters bilresa från staden Hella (på väg 1) eller 20 min bilresa från Selfoss om du kör från väst (Reykjavik) I Hella och Selfoss hittar du restauranger, simning, butiker etc. Landvegamót (bensinstation, butik) är bara 3 min bilresa och det är var du slår av rout ett för att komma till vår gård.

    Hestheimar (hästuthyrning) är 3 min bilresa. Golden Circle och Landmannalaugar 1,5 timmes bilresa. Seljalandsfoss 30 min bilresa. Hekla Volcano 1 timmes bilresa. Skógafoss 45 min bilresa. Vík 1 timmes bilresa. Selfoss 25 min bilresa.

We loved this place! We were close to the golden circle and then had an easy drive to the south east coast. The house was great and had everything we needed. They even had a kitten on the property that would come visit us! The owners were very friendly and helpful. We had a great time!

3 day stopover in Iceland

We had a quick 3 day stopover on our way back to America and was looking for a good mid point VRBO and klara’s was perfect. From the pictures the place looked great and when we arrived it was better than we could have expected. Very clean, super comfortable and the location turned out to be perfect. Highly recommend. Fabulous stay. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The cottage was very clean and well organised. All we needed, for our 4 night stay, was there, which made it very easy for us to enjoy. Importantly, it was also very comfortable and easy access to the main road.

Beautiful location and farm friendly

We loved our stay here with the big bright windows and large dining table for everyone to gather around! It was a great location to take off from to see a number of the sights around the Golden Circle. Our grandson really enjoyed toddling around the farm and we all really loved visiting the beautiful Icelandic horses!

Amazing farm house in Southern Iceland

A very fun stay in Southern Iceland! The house was meticulously clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Our kids loved meeting the farm animals, especially their cats and horses. We had a wonderful stay at Klara's house.

This is a must stay!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Klara's farm! The accommodations were perfect! We got to pet horses, dogs, cats, hold kittens and bottle feed baby sheep! The accommodations are clean and comfortable and extremely well stocked. We hope to return!

Klara and Harold are very welcoming. We enjoyed are stay. They have a beautiful farm. We were able to see sights on the Golden Circle, go to Hvolsvollur, and Seljalandsfoss from this location. We also visited the animals on the farm.

Lovely home on farm near Hella

We really loved our stay here. The home is as described in the listing, is clean and has all the amenities including a washer and dryer. Staying on a farm was a nice change of pace on our trip - we enjoyed seeing the horses in the pasture next door. Before we left we lucked out and happened upon one of the owners who gave us a tour of the barn and animals there. Would absolutely stay again.

Excellent location, beautiful place!

This spot was perfect for our day trips, right in the middle of Hella and Selfoss we had plenty of spots to hop in for dinner when we were too tired from hiking and sightseeing to cook. This location was very well appointed and just the right side for our family tour! The weather wasn't cooperating for our little toddler to see the new lambs and horses but he had a blast puddle jumping! Thank you so much for the perfect spot and such a nice place!

Best part of Iceland!

My kids keep saying their favorite part of Iceland was "owning a farm" - aka staying on Klara's farm! The guest house was perfectly set up for our family of 6, the hosts were incredibly friendly and offered to let my kids help with the animals (which they clearly LOVED - they even got to bottle feed a lamb!), and the location was perfect for our plan to explore both the city and the southern part of Iceland all the way over to Diamond Beach (cannot recommend highly enough!). Highly recommend and we're already dreaming of coming back!

Lara’s cottage is on a beautiful farm with sheep, horses, cats, dogs and chickens, all of whom we met and interacted with. Our kids’ highlight was feeding the lambs! Thank you, Harold!

Clean, easy to get to and comfy beds

This place was great. Quiet. Clean. Easy to use lights, fridge, etc. Dark at night. Great host checked in with us. Dog and cat went on a walk with us, but only were pet when we wanted to. Remember to bring a flat sheet if you are used to that. We’d stay again!

Lovely!

We arrived late (after 9pm for sure) and the house was open for us. We met our host briefly (and the dog) but otherwise we were quickly making dinner and showering and we left early the next day. Everything was so clean and new. Kitchen very nice and stocked. Very nice place. I couldn’t quite figure out how to use the washer dryer combo and had to google that! If we were staying in one spot for several days, I would for sure choose here. We met the horses and that was just magical.

Perfect spot

We stayed at Klara’s Villa for the second half of our Iceland trip. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy the Golden Circle, Reykjanes peninsula and the south coast. The home is on a farm in the country with little lighting so beautiful for night sky viewing. The small town of Hella has a cafe,grocery,gas station and a few small restaurants. We comfortably fit myself,my husband and our three kids 6,9,13. The beds were comfortable and we stayed warm during our snowy trip. The kitchen has all the essentials to cook your own meals. Everything was very clean and they are careful to have everyone remove shoes before entering in the event of pet allergies. The host was wonderful and introduced our children to the horses, sheep, chickens, cats and dog. The kids enjoyed helping feed the animals in the morning before we headed out on our adventures. We would 100% stay at Klara’s farm again.

Northern lights magic

Klara’s cottage was impeccably clean and tidy. I loved that the animals were so friendly (outside!) and that Klara knocked to let us know that the Northern lights were very active! We had a little trouble with Apple Maps finding the location but after a little bit more review of the listing and the use of google maps, we arrived safe and sound!
