Lugnt god frukost skön säng
Som mitt tidigare besök så fann jag det härligt och valde det som boende denna gång. Kommer definitivt att använda igen om behovet uppkommer.

Mysigt utanpå men totalt ocharmigt insides
Vi kände oss lurade av tidigare recensioner, då detta ställe totalt saknade den charm vi trodde det hade. Personalen verkade förskrämd och väldigt blyga. Täcket bestod av en noppig gammal filt som var direkt ofräsch. Inne i huset var det instängt och väldigt omysigt. Trädgården var bedårande men ingenstans fanns dynor så det var inte skönt att sitta där. Omgivningen var tråkig. Närmaste matställe, Beefeater, ligger mittemot hotellet. Maten där var medioker. Frukosten på hotellet var den sämsta under vår veckolånga resa. Vi rekommenderar inte det här stället...

A Gem of a Hotel in Reading
I received a really warm welcome with my bag taken up to my room. The room itself was very spacious, well maintained and very clean with traditional furnishings. The breakfast was excellent and I felt very comfortable and relaxed in the hotel. I will be returning to Reading regularly over the coming months and will definitely rebook. Many thanks for your kind hospitality!

This is how hotels should be run. Owner was an absolute gentleman. Interactions were friendly and relaxed. Breakfast was a delight. Immaculate table settings. Efficient, without losing the British customer service that British hoteliers were once renowned for. this is not old fashioned; it's good customer service. Thank you.

Nice little place to stay for an overnight stop-over. The staff are very helpful and accommodating, I asked to fill my water bottle from the kitchen and also leave some ice packs in the freezer over night. I stayed in a single room at the back annexe which was quite warm but cosy, the bed was very soft (not to my particular liking) but may suit others. Really nice shower and generally quiet position being at the back of the property away from the road. Very convenient location for where I needed to be early the next day and easy check in/check out. Thank you for having me.

Stayed for one night. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and bathroom was very nice. Host was friendly, checked me in and showed me to my room. Would definitely prefer to use this hotel as opposed to one in the centre of Reading (where I have stayed before).

Nice stay in Reading
The hotel was very clean and tidy and very quiet. The room was comfortable. There’s a handy Beefeater restaurant across the road. Our only issue was that breakfast wasn’t included in the price and we felt £15 per person was rather expensive.

Poor start, rest of stay very good as always.
It got off to a rather disappointing start. I had to wait at a locked entrance door for longer than I would have liked after a long car journey. However the rest of the stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as that experienced on previous visits. Spacious single room and pleasant cheerful staff. Excellent parking area and convenient location.

The hotel is only accessible by guest key cards for security, however the front door bell once rung alerts staff to your arrival to enable you to check in and be given your card. This is a friendly and, for our purposes, well situated hotel, quiet and well appointed. Staff members remembered us from a previous visit, which is always nice. A little quibble regarding our room was attended to straight away, and the standards of cleanliness were very high.

Pleasant room near to Reading central
Nice welcome by a friendly young man, even carried my bags to the room. The decor of the whole place was what I remember from my grandmother’s house, yet it was clean and tidy - just old. As we’re the bathroom fitting and wall papers. Didn’t eat here, so can’t comment on the food, other than the cooked breakfast looked good as I walked through the dinning room on my way out. Would probably stay there again as reasonably priced.

Very comfortable, clean, and quiet. The staff were very helpful. We had to leave very early for a flight so I cannot comment on the breakfast but our stay was great.

Great hotel service
located about 1.5 miles from town centre. This is a super hotel with car secure parking and great customer service. If ever in the Reading area and you have time this is a must stay.

Traditional Family Run Hotel
Made a refreshing change from the sterile atmosphere of the Hilton. Umar and Nazlee took the time to remember what we like to have for breakfast although I like to mix it up a bit. Umar gave me a choice of rooms. Beautiful gardens to the rear. Reminded me of my Uncle's hotel in the 70's. Lovely building as the photos show.

A pleasant place to rest your head.
Although I was only there for a few hours overnight, the location was perfect, just across the road from a Beefeater, the hosts were welcoming and very helpful, the room was well appointed and the WIFI was great. The bed was really comfortable and all the facilities were clean and presentable. I cannot rate the breakfast as we left before this was served.

We felt welcomed and comfortable. All requests were responded to quickly and efficiently. This was a last minute booking after we were let down badly somewhere else, so we were both impressed and relieved to be treated so well.

There are lots of positives about this hotel. Car parking, friendly staff, peaceful and there’s a pub over the road that’s reasonably priced and good quality. The decoration and facilities are very dated and in need of modernising.

Average stay
I chose this hotel because of the excellent reviews. Although my stay was adequate and I would certainly stay again if there was few alternative I cannot agree with the 9/10 reviews. The building and interior os old and dome of the decor tired, there was a draft from some of the windows, the room i stayed in was quite small. Additionally, the breakfast was disappointing. However the staff were very friendly and helpful, the bed was really comfortable and overall as i say the stay was adequate for what I needed. My only reason for addressing these points is to balance the 9/10 reviews as i feel these misled me.
