“Enjoyable third one night stay over recent years near to Christmas as a stopover to visit relatives in Oakham. Christmas trees and lights decorations looking good. Good view of Rutland Water and easy access to it through the gardens”

“Just needed a place to stay on our way to London and ended up in Melbourne. The room we got at Harpur's was in excelent condition. Clean, Good standardA little noice from the street outside but that didn't bother us. Very good service. Had a excelent dinner at their restaurant and a couple of beers. We had 2 weeks of touring around britain, and Harpur's was one of the better places we stayed in. Very good value. Doesn't hurt that Melbourne was a very nice town/village that we never heard of...

Parts of the exterior of one wing in need of some cosmetic attention but the rest of the facade of this massive, rambling property not at all bad and the interiors good. Beautiful countryside surroundings as well as attractive golf course. ”
