“When you visit Blowing Rock you have to stay at the Embers. It’s our favorite get away-located on the corner of Main Street you can easily walk anywhere-to the restaurants, shops, museum etc. The rooms and public areas are immaculate, beds and linens inviting and comfortable, rain showers with all the immensities, beautiful towels, staff is friendly and you get the feeling they love working there(thats important) all rooms have balconies-great restaurant and bar area inside as well as outside...

“Nice place for families — big double-beds rooms. Very super tiny gym. OK breakfast buffet, but so much waste 😱 friendly staff. Rather poor bar offer — better to go out to eat and drink. Well situated to go skiing or explore the mountain trails around, depending on the season. ”

“Blowing Rock is a beautiful little town. Unfortunately, big conglomerates are buying up the small hotel properties, and the personal service that was once the rule is now lacking entirely. We stayed at Azalea Inn and were disappointed. To start, we had to go to a different property to check in. During our whole stay, there was never any staff onsite at Azalea. The grounds are lovely, but it's an old building. We stayed in a "deluxe" room for our anniversary, but had to climb a dark, smelly...

“From the outside this place looked like it was under construction or closed. There were mattresses stacked on a trailer and a few people milling around in the parking lot that gave it the appearance of an abandoned property. I am in the process of requesting a refund because I did not feel safe staying there and chose to go somewhere more appealing and safe looking.”

“Pros of room 208: ** Spacious, double floor room with stairs Cons of room 208: ** No AC, but there were two box fans (fans were extremely dirty, three guests have allergies & asthma) ** Shower head in bathroom on the bottom floor needs to be replaced, barely any water came out ** Sofa bed was horrendous and needs to be replaced, springs and mattress were so old that it was like sleeping in a bowl, 1 person decided to sleep on the floor ** Main room door was very difficult to lock from both...
