“I took a girls’ trip to this resort with my 5 year old daughter and we both had the best time. The staff is so friendly and helpful. My daughter loved the pool and the playground and the beach area at the lake. The room was comfortable and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. We hope to return soon!”

“Nice place for families — big double-beds rooms. Very super tiny gym. OK breakfast buffet, but so much waste 😱 friendly staff. Rather poor bar offer — better to go out to eat and drink. Well situated to go skiing or explore the mountain trails around, depending on the season. ”

“The high ratings on most travel sites for the Embers are well deserved. We found the hotel to be very clean. Ben and Thomas at the front desk were both very courteous and helpful. The only negative was jackhammering in the middle of one night by the NC DOT. But that’s not the hotels fault of course. The restaurant on site is excellent as well as the service. Will be returning!”

“The Tarheel Suite was spacious and the furnishings were comfortable. It was an easy walk to the town and there were many restaurants around Hillwinds Inn. We loved our accommodations and quick response by the staff. We will stay there again and highly recommend,”
