“Room was spacious but facing parking which came as a surprise. Breakfast and dinner options are good. Pool facilities are good. First breakfast only one person doing everything who was stressed and abrupt and complained so out loud. The other morning there were more staff so ok. In general staff are helpful and the stay was pleasant. ”

“I recently stayed at this hotel in the Lake District with my family for five nights. Our main goal was to climb Scafell Pike, and this hotel stood out as the nearest option within my price range. Initially, I didn’t have very high expectations (despite the good reviews), but those quickly changed once we arrived. The location was peaceful and quiet, the car park was large and well-planned, and the room exceeded my expectations—it was far more spacious than any hotel room I’ve stayed in before....

“We had a lovely one night stay. We were warmly greeted and our room was spacious, up quite a few stairs so beware if you have heavy cases. We enjoyed a swim in the pool and used the hot tub. A well equipped gym was also available. The pool was very clean and a pleasant temperature. These facilities were all included in the room price but there is a limited timetable when you can use the pool due to lesson and member sessions. We ate dinner at the hotel which was very tasty and well presented....

The room I stayed in was bigger than I expected, given the building looking quite small and old from the outside. The condition was good but not perfect, but not less than you’d expect from the price and general appearance of the place. The food in the restaurant was great and decently priced. I liked that the pub was crowded with people not staying at the inn, which to me is a proof of quality. I’m not gonna write a whole lot more about this place because I want to keep it for myself :)"
