“Excellent hotel and highly recommend to all. Location is perfect. Right in the centre of Buxton. Very beautiful and surrounded by lovely cafes, bars, restaurants. There isn’t a car park on site so I parked in the train station which cost about £5 for 24 hours and was 2 mins walk away. Room was very nicely appointed. Lovely and quiet. Felt private. Bathroom luxurious. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Staff all very friendly and polite. Local and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served...

“Vi trivdes mycket bra, fantastisk service på alla sätt och vis. Rummen, vi bytte rum eftersom vi ville stanna en natt till, var fina, rena och personligt utformade med tavlor på väggarna som gav oss hemkänsla.”

“Vi hade bokat det näst finaste rummet, men det var som ett vanligt dubbelrum... Så vi blev besvikna och speciellt när vi vaknade tidigt på morgonen ut av trafiken från huvudleden som gick utanför. Utöver detta var servicen av kvällspersonalen perfekt och vi kunde inte känt oss mer nöjda efter kvällens besök i restaurangen! Vi besökte även den närliggande spa-anläggningen, men det var inte heller något att hänga i granen - överpris för en minimal pool, fotbad som inte fungerade och tre bastu...

“Good location for walking into Matlock Bath, 20 minute easy flat walk. Hotel has an on site Indian restaurant and bar but we weren’t aware so didn’t eat there as we had booked somewhere in town. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking was good on hotel premises. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment. It’s not luxury but a good hotel in a good location with parking which is difficult to find in the area.”

“Lovely location for walking the Peak District. Also ideal as a stop over if heading further, especially if you have an electric car as they have a charger for a reasonable fee. Nice touch is the packed lunch included in the room rate every day.”

“This is not a 4star hotel as described, it’s just a tired old pub that has some accommodation. The ‘deluxe’room that we had booked had stained carpets,sofa and cushions and was very basic. The two small bath towels and one hand towel provided were frayed. The menu is very basic in the pub. I had a pizza that was inedible as it tasted mouldy and looked horrible. We checked out after one night having booked and paid for 3 nights. The building has an unkempt vibe. The car park is very small and...

“On our arrival we were met by the delightful owner who made us feel very welcome. She was also a source of information which proved extremely beneficial. Our room was part of the converted stable block which was fine apart from the small windows which made the room dark and claustrophobic. Had we stayed longer then I would of asked to be moved. The bathroom was impressive which consisted of both shower and slipper bath. Food good served by young staff who looked after all our needs really...

“Great location, nice size room. Kettle on the room, (could do with a few more tea bags and milk cartons). Really Quiet, I thought I'd hear noises but I didn't hear anything. Good dark curtains to keep the light out. Staff allowed me to park and follow a trail that is literally behind the pub. There is a restaurant (I didn't try the food, but I did have a nice beer of the evening).”

“I really enjoyed my stay here. Its perfect if you are working away etc. Spacious accommodation with a nice shower and you can park right outside your chalet. I had a great night's sleep. No complaints”
