Eleven separate rooms reached via pathways from the main building, each with pool and views over a savannah landscape. High quality design with luxury lodge atmosphere; for example, lie in a hot bathtub and watch rhinos grazing just outside the plate glass sliding doors... Overall good service except for the food, which was mediocre.”

“Our stay was incredible. Desmond, our guide, gave us some incredible sights and we were really lucky to see 4 out of the big 5 alongside various other interesting animals. The reserve is vast and there is plenty to see, the fact that there are various lodges across the reserve means even if you have a fairly quiet hotel, there are plenty of rangers out doing drives which helps your chances of animals being spotted and your ranger making their way there. The accomodation is lovely, a perfect room...

“Vilket ställe!!! Vi spenderade 3 nätter på denna underbara lodge belägen i Amakhala Game Reserve. Hillsnek har endast 4 tält så var ute i god tid när ni bokar! Fantastisk god mat från morgon till kväll och allt ingår i upplägget. Vi hade utsikt över reservatet från vårt lyxiga tält. Kändes rätt sjukt att tälta med den lyxiga känslan som var i tältet. Personalen är så trevlig och serviceminded när det kommer till att få sina gäster att trivas. Man åker ut på två turer om dagen och får se massor...

“You’re right on the edge of the best reserve in the area & the game drives are all on the Shamwari Game Reserve. These are better than we ever expected & our ranger/guide, Cillia, was the best! Daniel at the Lodge managed everything for us & was always there for our needs, nothing was too much trouble & he ensured everything ran like clockwork. Cynthia was brilliant, always smiling and calm, Ntombi was also excellent and helped us with our questions about local culture. Overall superb!”

“Unique impressive camp with only three tents and very personal service. Long exciting game drives and yummy food. Craig was by far our favorite safari guide, but they’re all great. We were very well taken care of and are so grateful for the experience. ”

“Downtown area, a bit rundown, but wide street and Hotel is situated close to Bars and restaurants, there is a bottle shop next door and so could be a sound issue (no double glazing). Air-conditioning was excellent, one of the best I have had outside of USA.Hotel is a bit dated, but staff are friendly and helpful, only bed issue was it was 2 singles pushed together but made up as 2 singles, so a bit cramped.”
