“The location is remote, peaceful and lovely. It's an old building and full of character with huge, comfortable rooms. All the staff were helpful. Breakfasts were a little limited, but adequate. We didn't enjoy the one dinner we had, but it was good value. Overall I'd recommend this hotel for its excellent value accommodation and location.”

“Trevligt, centralt beläget hotell. Vänlig och hjälpsam personal. Mycket trevlig och gemytlig pub i hotellet, stans bästa. Saknade hiss men fick hjälp med väskan av personal. Hade gärna varit utan heltäckande matta i rummet men fräscht för övrigt. Bra kvalitet på lakan och handdukar.”

“Lovely stay in an old quaint farm house. The room was small with two single beds (not our preference but it is what was available). The private bathroom was modern and very nice. Nigel and his wife are delightful and intelligent. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. It is a bit hard to find off a high speed road but relaxing and quiet once you get there. The donkeys are adorable! We would highly recommend a stay there.”

“Everything was perfect from start to finish. The communication from the start was fabulous. Check in was really smooth and accommodating and the house was wonderful. It was clean, tidy and had everything you would require for your stay. The hot tub was already heated, clean and fresh. The little touches was an added bonus and really thoughtful. It was perfect for our stay as a group of women on a hiking weekend. Thankyou for having us.”

“The staff were extremely helpful and friendly especially when I couldn't open the key cabinet. Dinner was quite excellent and reasonably priced. Room was larger than expected but TV reception was patchy and screen kept freezing perhaps due to poor Wi-Fi reception. One thing to remember, they do not have allocated parking - whilst there is a large car park behind it is £2 for 2 hours and £6 for a day but keep in mind the gates are shut from10pm to 8am which is unhelpful when you need to leave...

“The room did the job - but numerous issues. Missing some basic necessities like a bedside light. Had to use the public wifi from the bar downstairs which was choppy at best. The problems started right from the beginning. Check in according to the website was 10:00pm. But at 8:30pm I had a message saying I wouldn't be able to check in after 9 as the bar shuts at that point. I was on a train so unable to get there for that time, and somebody very kindly stayed to let me in, but they still...

“Check in was easy and friendly, a lovely collie welcomed me into the yard as well! The Tack room was clean and comfortable and good for my brief stay. I hadn't appreciated how noisy the motorway would be and so had to close the windows in the bedroom to be able to get to sleep. Apart from that it would be a nice place to stay to explore the area. I was up very early in the morning, and it was perfect for my requirements.”

“Pros: The house was immaculately clean. Spotless everywhere. Sheets clean, floors clean, oven and all other kitchen appliances were immaculately clean, as well as plates and forks etc. House is nice bright and airy.
