“To he honest, I would expect a lot more considering the price. Amenities were very basic. Everything cost extra and is far from cheap, e.g. transfer, beach towels, breakfast. Super slow WiFi only in reception area. Restaurant staff was inattentive and not really welcoming. Food was good but also expensive. All-in-all not great value for money unfortunately. Would not book again.”

“Food and the service level are really bad. Tried to order room service twice, they told me they are very busy and will call back which never happened, so we gave up. Booked the Japanese restaurant one night, when we arrived they told us there is no table available (luckily, since the place looks really awful). Plenty of options nearby 5mins from the hotel. “Very enjoyable experience staying at the Gondwana Hotel in Noumea. The staff were excellent; friendly, welcoming and helpful. The morning breakfast was enjoyable and the location provided an excellent base from which to explore this lovely part of New Caledonia.”

“All in all a good hotel and we were happy with it. The great location and price made it worth the minor things. We had a beautiful balcony view of the pool area and the ocean. It is close to convenient stores where we bought breakfast as we didn't want to pay for the buffet. Bought baguettes and fruits and some cheese and had that on the balcony with the view. “Liked being away from the city and close to the Mangroves walk. Loved the little shop so a night in with snacks and meals was easy. Very helpful staff even if little English was spoken, we managed :-)”

“Wonderful sea view from the apartment. Balcony was a lovely place to be first thing in the morning & also in the evening to watch sunset. Just a quick walk to Anse Vata beach for amazing swimming with lifeguards on duty. Very convenient to head out to duck or master islands for the day( just pop across the road) Well equipped kitchen with full size fridge/ freezer which made it so convenient.”

“We had a fantastic 5 nights here with our 2 girls. Pascal was an amazing host and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. The boat trip to the island and sailing were highlights! “The Residence is an older style beachside stay. It has character, easy going but very secure. Close to the beach and away from the traffic. Self contained and with a quality supermarche in close walking distance. The bus stop is virtually outside the door but this area is fantastic for walking and - well - promenading!”
