VILLA PRAIOLA - RIPOSTO
Superbe séjour dans un cadre idyllique ! Maison spacieuse avec vue superbe sur une pépinière d'agrumes, la mer d'un côté et le majestueux Etna de l'autre. Villa très bien équipée. Nous étions 4 couples. Chacun disposait d'une chambre et d'une salle de bains. La piscine et le jacuzzi ont été bien appréciés le soir en rentrant de nos visites. Riposto bien situé pour visiter Catane, Etna, Siracus (l'ile d'Ortigie) et agrigente bien que à 190 kilomètres mais la vallée des temples mérite le détour. Quant aux propriétaires, quel accueil à notre arrivée tardive... avec quelques petites attentions à notre égard. Je recommande vivement ce lieu. Je remercie Stefano qui a répondu à toutes les questions que j'ai pu lui poser

Excellent value, location, amenities
We (6 adults and 2 teenagers) were so happy in this villa! The views are breathtaking. The home is so comfortable with four en-suite bathrooms!! The hot tub was used every night as the air in early June is cool in the evenings. Our hosts were so kind and even had generous provisions left for us so we could have a delicious breakfast, snacks, and drinks on hand right from the start! The nearby towns made everything we needed easy to access via car. It was a perfect place to explore Sicily from. But, honestly, it was hard to even leave the villa for a minute!! Many thanks to our hosts for making this a vacation we will never forget!!! We would love to return someday.

Perfect family vacation
The Villa is absolutely stunning. So much more amazing in real life than pictures or even my words can convey. The sound of birds and fragrant lemon trees surround the property that has an amazing old world charm yet still modern conveniences. The beds were comfortable and the showers hot and every room had French doors that led to terraces with views of Mount Etna and the sea. We thoroughly enjoyed sipping coffee on the terrace each morning and soaking in the hot tub under the stars each night. It was also very sweet of the hosts to leave us juice, milk and fruit for the week and also to give us suggestions for dinner. Everything they recommended was perfect for us. I wish we could have stayed another week. We will definitely stay again if we are lucky enough to return to Sicily.:) Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt
Das Haus liegt wunderbar in einer Zitronenplantage. Die Aussicht auf den Ätna und das Meer ist überragend. Die Anlage, das Haus und der Pool hat uns und insbesondere den Kindern super gefallen. Die Kommunikation mit Vera war sehr gut - sie hat uns ganz toll geholfen als wir uns ausgeschlossen haben. Insgesamt ein wunderbarer Urlaub.

This house is fabulous.
Unfortunately, my wife and I had to cut our vacation short after just a few hours. But our friends with who we were traveling stayed at the house for a week and this is what they said: The house is fabulous. It is spacious and can easily accommodate 3 couples with an additional wonderful loft which kids would enjoy. The grounds are lovely and well cared for. The house is very well equipped and we easily cooked in a couple of nights. One great thing about the house is that it is situated in the middle of a large nursery and so seems remote, but is really very accessible. A relatively easy drive to the limited access expressway which allowed easy day trips along the entire east cost from Noto and Syracuse in the south to Castlemora and Toramino in the north. Also several restaurants from casual to high end very close and we walked to the beach one day. All very delightful. Our hosts checked on us once during our stay and everything they said they would do, they did and exactly when they said they would. We didn’t use the pool as it was late in the season, but did use the hot tub and we ate breakfast every day on the terrace/patio looking out at Mt Etna. A very delightful place to stay and I would recommend it without reservation.

Zwischen Meer und Vulkan
Die perfekte Lage unter dem Äthna mit Blick auf das Meer, zwischen Catania und Taormina. Man schwebt über den Plantagen mit einer perfekten Terrasse. Das historische Gebäude ist gut modernisiert, die Ausstattung ist sehr gut und noch nie vorher hat uns ein so voller Kühlschrank mit Getränken und ein solcher Obstkorb begrüßt.

Top ausgestattetes Haus in wunderschöner Plantagenanlage
Wir waren eine Woche im September dort als Grossfamilie. Alle haben die Zeit genossen. Grundstück sehr gepflegt, Haus top ausgestattet u.a. 3 Kühl-Gefrierkombinationen, viel Geschirr in sehr guter Qualität. Toller grosser Pool und schönes Jacuzzi. Grosszügige Gastgeber hatten Kühlschrank mit Bier Wasser etc gefüllt und Riesenobstkorb in Küche gestellt. Anlage sehr grosszügig. Nur 2 kleine kritische Anmerkungen: - Wohnung ist im 1.OG ,wohin die Treppe mit 30Stufen führt; daher für Menschen mit Gehbrhinderung problematisch - der Strand von Praiola hat sehr grosse Kiesel und es ist echt schwierig ins Meer zu gelangen. Gemeinde sollte sich entschliessen einen 10m langen Steg mit Trittleiter am Ende ins Meer zu bauen und Problem wäre gelöst.

Amazing - views, comfort, hospitality
We LOVED our stay here! Such a lovely, comfortable place that feels like a home. One of the best stocked kitchens we’ve had in a rental property, and thoughtful touches like a fridge stocked with water, juice, and beer, a fruit basket including fruits from the property, and essentials to get you started like plenty of coffee. Ceiling fans in all the rooms was an unexpected plus in the hot Sicilian summer, though the breeze on the terrace from Etna was delightful. Spectacular views, spotless pool and hot tub, a great respite after busy days exploring Ortigia, Taormina, Etna, Alcantara Gorge, beaches, and wineries. There are nice restaurants within short driving distance, though nothing really walkable. We cooked several nights and also had two great private chefs come in, Fabio Simone and Mario Stefano Traina. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Villa!!!
We had a lovely holiday in Sicily staying at this beautiful villa. The grounds are simply stunning, the gardens are so well maintained, we loved having fresh lemons every day from the Orchards to squeeze on our breakfast pancakes. There is so much to keep the kids entertained too - pool with dive board, hot tub and even table tennis! The views of Etna whilst sat on the balcony were amazing - especially when it started erupting and you could see the lava flowing down! The owners of the villa are lovely and give you lots of local information. We spent a lot of time at the villa relaxing and only visited Mount Etna (1hr drive) and Taormina (45min drive) - both worth visiting. The only thing that was a little bit disappointing was that you cannot walk to anything from this villa....no ice cream shops or little bars as it is on a fairly busy road you wouldn't really want to walk on. You must hire a car and you need to drive everywhere. That said there is a supermarket 5mins drive away and there is also a fantastic restaurant about 5mins drive from the villa called Le Serra - amazing views of Etna and fabulous food!! We went twice! Also be aware that none of the restaurants in the vicinty open before 7.30pm in the evening, Sicilian way I imagine, but we found this a bit restrictive with our 3 year old (who usually eats around 5pm) so we ended up eating in a few nights when he was too tired to stay up late. All in all though a great place to chill and spend time with the family! :)

Traumhafte Villa mit allem Komfort
Die Villa liegt an einer kleine Straße-Ecke an einer Gärtnerei gelegen mit Blick zum Etna und dem Meer. Das Anwesen ist traumhaft und sehr gepflegt. Insgesamt haben wir alles wie beschrieben und auf den Fotos vorgefunden. Obst und Getränke standen am Anreisetag bereit und die Gast-Familie ist sehr nett. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können die Ferien-Villa uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen!

Fantastisk landvilla
Vi var 4 voksne og 2 børn, der tilbragte efterårsferien i Praiola. Huset er fantastisk med udsigt til både havet og Etna. Det er godt indrettet og perfekt til flere familier. Haven er smuk med stor pool og jacuzzi spa. Vi ankom meget sent og blev modtaget ved afkørslen til Giarre og fulgt til huset. Her stod mad. vin og frugt parat til os. Al kommunikation med udlejer har virket perfekt, og vi giver stedet de bedste anbefalinger-

Villa Praiola in Riposto - Stay for 4 Adults
Villa Praiola offers all the amenities and conveniences, excellent accommodation, lovely garden with swimming pool and jacuzzi. We were welcomed in a most hospitable manner by Vera and Francesco, once we found the villa. It was a bit challenging to locate the villa. The generous food supplies in cupboards and two fridges were most appreciated, after a long journey. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the rooms are most comfortable, with individual ensuites, fans and AC. Cleanliness is superb! Cettina and her family treated us to an authentic Sicilian meal which was delicious and tasty! The pool, the jacuzzi and especially the spectacular sunrises and view to Mount Etna were thoroughly enjoyed on a daily basis. We did find it a bit noisy with traffic and the 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. sirens, alerting the Nursery Employees of shift start and shift end. Hence, the loss of one star. Otherwise, we were treated exceptionally well by Vera and Francesco, along with Cettina and family. We will cherish our wonderful memories of Villa Praiola, which, by the way was also difficult to find by our tour guides taking us out on two different excursions. Some additional landmarks may be helpful. Thank you, Vera and Francesco.

Lovely stay in beautiful villa with excellent facilities. The owners were very responsive & helpful
The owners, Vera & Francesco, very kindly met us just after the toll booths on the A18 to lead us to the house. We were very late arriving with BA flight availability and delays but they were fine about it. They explained that they would indicate the location of a large supermarket, Conforama, and two pizzerias on the way to the house which was very helpful. They showed us around the house and explained how things worked on arrival which meant we could settle in straight away. The house was very clean and the kitchen was really well equipped. As others have said it was really helpful to have some food in the cupboards and fridge to start us off which was enough for 7 of us to have a snack on arrival and breakfast in the morning. The views from the terrace towards the sea and in the other direction towards Mount Etna were beautiful. There were three dining spaces including a garden room which was lovely. The pool and jacuzzi were excellent and it was good to see that both of these were given a good clean on changeover day. ( The jacuzzi was completely emptied.) There were lots of chairs & beds to relax on and lovely thick cotton beach towels provided in the little pool house with toilet. The four bedrooms had air conditioning and fans and there is a nice breeze too through the french doors on the three double en-suite bedrooms on the first floor. The en-suite bedroom in the eaves has a/c too and was perfect for the 3 young men sleeping up there with 3 small double beds. There was a fourth bed there too which was a sofa bed and there was another sofa bed in one of other double rooms. There was also a seating area inside which was especially useful for the stormy day. The property was well located between the sites of Etna, beautiful Taormina & Syracusa. The property was set in beautiful grounds with Kiwis (above the car port!) , lemons, limes & peaches growing on trees there and mint and rosemary was there too. It is not far to the local beach (15 min walk). The beach is full of large grey lava stones. The water was clear and warm. The only negative to Sicily for us was the amount of dumped rubbish everywhere, which was evident on the beach road, but it won’t stop us from returning. I would most definitely recommend a visit to this island with its sub tropical climate and amazing scenery and especially to this villa which is beautifully kept by owners who want you to have a 5* experience with them. An Oasis in the Sicilian Sun
The villa in Riposta is a wonderful oasis from which to explore eastern Sicily. Our family of four had a wonderful stay. The villa is as described on Homeaway. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and shower. The pool and jacuzzi are a wonderful place to escape from the Sicilian heat. The hosts are extremely nice and helpful and provided lots of tips about restaurants and sites to see. We had a wonderful meal prepared by Cettina, one of the caretakers of the property. Overall, a wonderful stay. We only wished we could have enjoyed more time at the villa, as we were busy seeing the sites!

Idyllic Sicilian Villa with a lemon tree orchard
We were extremely impressed with this beautiful villa with accommodation on the upper two floors and an ancient wine press below. The kitchen was extremely well laid-out with a great deal of cutlery and cooking equipment for our party of 8, together with cups/plates and glasses. The owners had kindly left food and drink in the fridge and the 4 bedrooms were very well decorated with matching en-suite bathrooms and towels. There was a gorgeous outside sitting area adjacent to the kitchen where we could eat out, with panoramic views of Mt Etna, the hills and views of the sea. There was the most lovely garden with lemon and peach trees, as well as a generous sized pool, jacuzzi tub and outside dining area with bbq facilities. It was an absolute delight to stay here and there is a beach nearby (with pebbles so bring rubber shoes) as well as a cafe in the village which is only a short walk via a railway footbridge. We enjoyed day trips to Taomina, Noto and Syracusa during our stay and could really have done with another week in this beautiful part of the world. Thank you Francesco, Stefano and Vera for a wonderful stay!

Zonder meer bijzonder
Met onze kinderen en kleinkinderen hebben wij een fantastische vakantie gehad in Villa Madalena. Door de vriendelijke eigenaren van de villa werden we keurig opgewacht op de laatste afslag van de snelweg. Vervolgens werd rondgeleid in de villa en konden onze kleinkinderen een eerste duik maken in het zwembad maken. De kamers zijn erg ruim en netjes en van alle comfort voorzien. De villa ligt erg rustig aan de kust. Van buren is geen sprake. De beheerster heeft op verzoek voor ons een voortreffelijke warme maaltijd gemaakt en we konden met al onze vragen bij haar terecht. Het uitzicht was prachtig : aan de ene kant de Etna aan de andere kant de zee. Bezoekjes aan Acireale, Taormina en Noto zijn erg gemakkelijk af te leggen. We kijken terug op een fantastisch verblijf in Villa Madelana te Riposto, Sicilie. We komen zeker nog een keer terug! Fam Weemaes, Heinkenszand

Magnifico!
Our group of eight can not say enough positive things about this delightful villa. We were warmly greeted at the highway exit by Vera and Francesco, who led us to their villa by the sea. From the upper deck we could see the Mediterranean to the east and the steam rising from Mt. Etna on the west. The refrigerator and cupboards were amply supplied with food. The house was spotless, and our hosts were sensitive to our needs. We were surrounded by citrus orchards. The on-site chef provided a large selection of possible menus from which we chose two meals, which were not only delicious but plentiful. Overall we had a wonderful time and we strongly recommend this villa for your Sicilian retreat.

Very, very nice place to stay
We were here with our children an grandchildren and had a fantastic stay. We had an nice welcome of Vera and Francesco, a very nice bottle of whine and a filled fridge! THe house , tube and swimming pool will guarantee a nice stay if you choose tot stay one or more days at the house. Taormina, Etna and Syracuse can be reached easily by car. Don't expect to visit the sea below the house. It is a pebble beach. and not a touristic beach. For us no problem.... Thank you Vera and Francesco. Reviews about the 'noise' around the house: in our week it was acceptable and no real problem... Hans en Betty Kessens

Lovely villa and friendly hosts
The villa was just as described. The views are lovely, especially Mt. Etna in the morning. The bedrooms are comfortable and the loft area is perfect for children to have their own space to play and rest. The grounds are spacious and well-maintained, and feel secluded because of the surrounding citrus groves. There is some noise from the citrus farming operations and the road running alongside the back of the house, but we quickly got used to it and it died down by dinner time. The owners are very friendly and responsive, and were available by phone to answer questions during our stay. A highlight was having the groundskeeper and her family prepare dinner for our group. The villa is convenient for exploring Catania, Mt. Etna, and Taormina.

Ein tolles Haus
Wir waren mit unseren Freunden (4 Paare, Alter 50 Jahre) für eine Woche in diesem Haus. Da wir jedes Jahr uns eine Haus mieten können wir dies auch gut vergleichen. Es war für uns das bisher sauberste Haus das wir hatten auch die Ausstattung der Küche war wirklich perfekt. Die Vermieter waren super freundliche Leute, wir hatten eine defekte Kaffeemaschine die innerhalb einer halben Stunde ausgetauscht wurde, das haben wir bisher noch nie erlebt. Der Pool sowie der Whirlpool waren super sauber und auch alles außen herum war sehr gepflegt. Der Ausblick vom Haus aus ist wirklich toll. Eigentlich hätte ich 5 Sterne vergeben aber was für uns nicht so schön war, da es abends doch recht frisch war mussten wir uns immer drinnen aufhalten da waren die Stühle in der Küche doch sehr unbequem und auf dem Sofa hatten wir nicht alle Platz somit waren die Nächte nicht so lang was sonst eigentlich der Fall ist. Nicht alle unsere Freunde waren von Sizilien begeistert da es doch wirklich eine sehr schmutzige und arme Insel ist. Für mich mit italienischen Wurzel war es schön aber auch ich würde nicht ein zweites Mal die Insel bereisen da würde ich doch eher Richtung Rom gehen da man hier doch mehr das italienische Leben spürt, aber das ist Ansichtssache. Trotz allem war es ein gelungener Urlaub und wir möchten uns nochmal bei Vera und Ihrem Mann recht herzlich bedanken.

What a wonderful villa!
Having stayed in a lot of villas I can say this is definitely one of the best we've rented. The pool alone deserves 5 stars - very good size and has a diving board too. Everything is well maintained and spotlessly clean both inside and outdoors. The villa has both air conditioning and overhead fans, but the fans work really well so we didn't turn the air con on at all. Each room is spacious and the beds are all comfortable - having a good amount of space is a must when you have five adults staying together. Kitchen is really well stocked with equipment for cooking and eating at the villa. There's something particularly nice about sitting outside with the sea on one side and Etna to the other whilst being surrounded by lemon trees! Vera & Francesco are perfect hosts - they came to meet us at the turn off from the motorway, guided us to the villa and gave us a really thorough tour of the villa including telling us all about local towns, restaurants and bars. They provided a really good welcome package of food and drinks for when we arrived, definitely don't need to worry about rushing to the shops immediately. Nino & Cettina who look after the villa and grounds live on the ground floor of the villa, with a separate entrance - you don't need to worry about bumping into each other, it's quite separate. Cettina's cooking is a must - you can pick from eight menus in a book which you request the day before, each one comes with two courses and wine. Hugely generous portions - especially the wine! There's always leftovers the next day. We'd love to come back in future - this was our first time in Sicily and this villa made it a very memorable trip.

Beautiful property in a stunning location
We stayed a week in this lovely property. It was like being in a Caribbean garden surrounded by flowers and trees. The owners were really friendly and provided a very comprehensive welcome pack including fruit that appeared to come from the garden. Soundproofing and air conditioning were both excellent as was the pool and Jacuzzi. The view from the terrace in one direction was Etna and the sea the other. There are many amazing locations to visit within a relatively short drive. We had a fantastic stay.

Wunderbarer Aufenthalt in sizilianischer Villa
Wer in einer sehr alten schönen Villa mit wunderbarem Blick auf den Ätna und das Meer sehr autenthisch leben möchte, sollte hier herkommen. Das Anwesen wird von einem netten Ehepaar gepflegt, das auf Bestellung auch (kostenpflichtig) sizilianisch kocht. Das Haus ist innen modernisiert, zeigt aber mit seinen sehr hohen gewölbeartigen Decken und massiven Türen und Schlagläden alte Eleganz. Insgesamt 8 Personen können hier komfortabel unterkommen. Zum Haus gehört ein wunderbarer exotischer Garten mit zu dieser Jahreszeit reifen Pfirsichen und Zitronen, und einem sehr gepflegten riesigen Pool und Wirlpool. Umgeben ist das Anwesen von riesigen Baumschulplantagen, in denen -früh morgens- auch etwas lautstark- gearbeitet wird. Am Haus entlang geht eine Straße, die meistens sehr wenig befahren ist. Ursprünglich war das Anwesen eine Weinkellerei - die Geräte und Fässer stehen im Erdgeschoss nebst Anbau. Der Aufenthalt ist entsprechend der Größe des Anwesens nicht ganz billig. Da sind die winzigen, eigens zu dem Zweck gebauten Ferienhäuschen im Nordwesten sicher günstiger. Aber: wer das alte Sizilien sehr komfortabel und idyllisch kennenlernen möchte, sollte hierher kommen.

A beautiful traditional Villa with Amazing views and Fabulous pool
We stayed in August 2018. The villa is extremely well equipped and despite being traditional had excellent air conditioning in all the rooms and had everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The views of sunrise over the ocean and sunset over Etna are fabulous. Really well positioned for day trips to Etna and Taormina but with such a fab pool and beautifully kept gardens it was just as lovely to relax at the villa. A great place to stay we would highly recommend.

As you arrive at Villa Riposto you definitely say 'wow!' It is very attractive and shows character.
Francesco and Vera were very friendly and welcoming. They were even kind enough to meet us at the toll road so that our journey to the villa was less stressful. As you pull up in to the drive way you see the beautiful gardens and its surroundings. The swimming pool is very impressive, the children were very excited about that. Once inside Vera gave us a tour of the house and explained what restaurants and other sightseeing places there are to visit whilst in Sicily. Everyone had an amazing time in Sicily, it is a shame we could not of stayed longer. I will definitely recommend this villa to friends.

Fantastisch verblijf in prachtige omgeving!
Gedurende 1 week verbleven we met 3 volwassenen en 3 kinderen (11j-8j-6j) in dit mooie huis. We werden heel goed ontvangen. De eigenaars wachtten ons op aan de afrit van de autostrade en konden we volgen naar de woning. We kregen een goede uitleg over het huis, tips waar we lekker konden gaan eten en waar de winkels lagen. De frigo was goed gevuld, heel aangenaam om toe te komen! Het huis zelf is mooi en goed onderhouden. Alles wat vermeld was op de website, was aanwezig en het keukenmateriaal dat voorhanden was, was van goede kwaliteit. De airco's werkten prima! Op de benedenverdieping woont de huishoudster met haar gezin. Ze heeft die week 2 x voor ons lekker gekookt. Het uitzicht van ons terras was prachtig. De tuin was heel goed onderhouden en heel groen wat voor ons echt een verrassing was omdat het toch eind juli was. Het zwembad was groot en de temperatuur zalig! Stunning, Spacious, Well Appointed Gated Property - An Oasis!
This property, set in the midst of a beautiful tree farm located between Mt. Etna and the sea, is an oasis of tranquility and beauty. The property includes spacious lawn areas, small groves of fragrant lemon and lime trees, flowering plants everywhere, a gorgeous pool, a new hot tub, as well as a beautiful outdoor stone eat-in kitchen area to take any meals (including a second refrigerator!). There is even a well appointed bathroom in an out-building right by the pool! The home itself is grand and well appointed, with four large bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms (plus a half bath by the main living room), and a very large wrap around terrace offering spectacular views of Mt. Etna and the sea. (Taking coffee on the terrace in the morning while watching sail boats drifting by was so relaxing!). The rooms each have air conditioning, which functioned perfectly allowing everyone to be comfortable even when it became hot outdoors (although, notably, since the home is near the sea, typically there was a nice breeze making it more comfortable than expected when one was at the property during the day). The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal for a large group (we were two families and 9 total people), and the Conforama grocery is just a few minutes drive away. The caretakers living on the property are absolutely lovely people and we took comfort in having them close by in case we had any questions (although if you don't want to interact, they are very discreet and one wouldn't even know they are there!). They maintained the property (including the pool) and generally made life easier (including helping us one night with the charcoal grill!). We arranged for them to cook dinner for our group on 3 nights and that was a joy - she is a wonderful cook and we really savored sitting down to an excellent restaurant worthy home- cooked meal on that beautiful property and just relaxing (including 3 gluten free members who were easily accommodated). The location was great - we could easily go south toward Siracusa (about an hour), or north to Taormina (30 minutes), various beach lidos (15 minutes north or south), or Mt. Etna (which we hiked). Finally, the owners of the property (Francesco, Vera, son Stefano) were so gracious and warm. They always responded quickly to our inquiries, and were clearly very invested in ensuring a perfect holiday for their guests at their beautiful home. We are so happy that we rented this property!

The two weeks we stayed were blissful .
You approach the house up a curvy drive , the lemon and fruit trees leaves gently brush your car . The grand staircase that leads up to the house takes you to a noble height that looks over the top of the palm trees to a panorama south to the sea in one direction and north to Etna . All the bedrooms and their ensuite bathrooms worked well as did everything in the house . The cleaners were excellent in their attention to detail as was the gardener who looked after the pool area too as well as all the colorful flowers and without ever invading our privacy . We sometimes ate outside on the very large terrace , sometimes in the loggia in the gardens beyond the pool , sometimes in the large ground floor sitting / dining areas - we very rarely went to restaurants as really good shopping was nearby and the large kitchen so easy to use . The owner also made the kind effort to show us around locally too on our first evening and that really helped . Nothing was a problem for them . Also as we have found before on Homeaway the accuracy of description and photos was again reliable so we were not disappointed in fact it was better than we ever imagined and a fair and reasonable price for the quality . You would be mad not to stay there !

Veel lawaai in de omgeving
Het huis is geweldig! Gezellig, schoon en alles dik voor elkaar. De eigenaars zijn hartelijk en gastvrij en het uitzicht is prachtig, maar het huis staat in een gebied waar veel bedrijvigheid was in de week dat wij er waren. Elke dag (behalve zondag) om zeven uur wakker worden door een sirene, daarna de rest van de dag het geluid van een piepende en rammelende kraan, aggregaten die brommen, veel zwaar verkeer, piepende vrachtwagens, etc. We hebben dit gemeld bij de eigenaar en ze vonden het ook heel vervelend. Naast het huis (en vlak naast het zwembad) was een stuk grond aangekocht door de buurman, een groothandel in bomen en planten, en precies in onze vakantieweek, waren ze daar bezig. De eigenaar heeft nog gevraagd of ze de werkzaamheden uit konden stellen, maar dat was niet mogelijk. Wij waren er van maandag tot maandag en hebben welgeteld één rustige dag gehad. Het huis en de prachtige omgeving zijn zeker vijf sterren waard, want je hebt uitzicht op de Etna èn de zee en overal om je heen staan mooie bomen en planten. Maar door alle werkzaamheden en het lawaai was ons verblijf voor mij niet meer dan drie sterren waard. We hebben wel hele mooie uitstapjes gemaakt, ook een georganiseerde tour naar de Etna. Dat was prima, maar door regen en onweer konden we niet alles doen. Toen zijn een aantal van ons de volgende dag op eigen houtje teruggegaan en dat was eigenlijk leuker dan de georganiseerde trip, dus dat geld kun je je besparen door zelf de Etna op te gaan. Verder vonden wij Taormina, Savoca, Siracusa en Castelmola de hoogtepunten van ons verblijf! Het weer was heerlijk en het enige wat dus tegenviel, was het lawaai. Maar daarin zijn ze ons prima tegemoet gekomen en de laatste dag kregen we ook nog een paar mooie cadeautjes met verontschuldigingen van de eigenaar. We zijn dus verder met een heel positief gevoel over Sicilië naar huis gegaan. Het is wel een eiland met contrasten, want je hebt ook dorpjes en steden die slecht zijn onderhouden met heel veel vuilnis op straat. Maar de natuur is overweldigend mooi en de mensen zijn heel aardig. Hilda

Good for a large group
This is a large villa that has been updated with modern conveniences like ensuite bathrooms and a functional kitchen with laundry facilities. It has a very nice deck overlooking the sea on one side and Mount Etna on the other. There is a lovely pool area with a hot tub and the grounds are very well maintained with flower pots everywhere and a lemon grove lining the driveway. Most of the bedrooms are a good size and three have king size beds (with extremely firm mattresses and pillows). The beach is a 10 minute walk and local people use it but it is all rock, like most Sicily beaches, and there is a lot of garbage on the road leading to the beach and on the beach as well. The garbage problem is really pervasive throughout the towns we visited unless there is a large tourist market, as in Taormina. The towns near the villa have few attractions. You have to drive to Catania, Mount Etna or Taormina to see things of interest- each is about 40 minutes or more to get to. Visitors should be advised that the villa is very quiet at night but starting in the early morning there is heavy equipment working the fields right next to the property until about 4 pm every day except Sunday. The hosts were very helpful and nice.

Great place with wonderful surroundings!
We were two couples and spent 1 week at this very great place with a wonderful view from the terrace to the Etna and also to the sea. We have made sightseeing tours to Taormina, Syrakus, Noto but also enjoyed just relaxing in the house, pool and wonderful garden. The whole location is maintained at top level. This goes for the house and also for the pool and garden area. Even a new Jacuzzi has been added to the pool area. The kitchen is best equipped which was also important to us. Vera and Francesco are very caring for their guests - very warm welcome on our arrival with a great fruits plate and fridge already filled and also big help to us when the delivery of our rental car was delayed. This was really outstanding! Makes you feel at home abroad!

Lovely rural villa with fantastic views
We had a wonderful week at this villa. It has incredible views of Mount Etna to the west & over the sea to Calabria in the east, beautiful to wake up to on bright mornings. The house itself is spacious and well-equipped with a large terrace and lovely grounds full of lemon & orange trees. It sits in agricultural land, mainly olives & citrus, and there is plenty of bird life - we saw hoopoes & eagles. The local villages have useful shops, a large supermarket & good restaurants. It is a few minutes' drive to the main highway and from there a short journey to the major tourist towns of Taormina and Syracuse. One feature of the villa is that the owners Francesco & Vera are so friendly and helpful. They provided a generous supply of food and drinks when we arrived, they gave us good advice on where to eat out & they were flexible about our check-out time to make it fit our flights home. The caretakers who live on the ground floor are also helpful - they provide an excellent meal on request. The volcano itself is unforgettable - you can walk on its slopes, drink Etna wines or just sit out on the villa terrace and watch it changing with the light. It is an extraordinary sight & we have countless photos to prove it.

Beautiful villa with stunning views
Our group of 6 adults spent a week in late March 2018 at this beautiful villa. Vera and Francesco are courteous and attentive hosts and the villa is well appointed. Situated in a small village but with easy-to-reach stores and restaurants, this villa is perfectly located to explore the area surrounding Mt. Etna and the entire coast from Taormina (a must) to Catania. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen stocked with enough food for breakfast and snacking, allowing us to rest from the journey before we had to venture to the supermarket, a very thoughtful touch. I would highly recommend this villa for anyone looking to explore the Mt. Etna region.

Das Haus hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen: Wir Kochen gerne und die Küche ist geräumig und sehr gut ausgestattet. Großes Plus: Jedes Zimmer mit eigenem Bad. WLAN problemlos. Garten mit Grillmöglichkeit und Pool mit Badehandtüchern und ausreichend Liegen. Großartig: überdachter Essplatz auf der Terasse mit Blick zum Ätna und Blick auf's Meer.

Benessere suggestivo
Ho trascorso 15 splendidi giorni, in compagnia di amici, nella comodità di una casa molto bella e in posizione decisamente suggestiva, con il mare di fronte e l'Etna alle spalle. I paesaggi mattutini e serali erano bellissimi. La posizione garantisce inoltre un clima ideale, caldo asciutto di giorno, fresco la sera. L'interno è caratterizzato da ampie camere da letto, ognuna con il proprio bagno. L'esterno è un giardino lussureggiante con una piscina perfettamente tenuta dalla coppia di custodi, molto discreta. Il mare è limpido, le spiagge purtroppo non brillano per pulizia e manutenzione. Peccato anche per l'immondizia lungo le strade. Fa male vedere una terra tanto bella e accogliente deturpata dall'incuria. Comunque un grande abbraccio alla Sicilia e ai siciliani che ci accolgono da anni con signorilità e educazione e ci fanno vivere serenamente la vacanza.

Gentile Pietro, siamo contenti dei giorni splendidi che avete passato presso la Villa. Siamo contenti abbiate apprezzato la suggestività della posizione, gli interni e gli esterni della casa e il giardino. Per la spazzatura nelle strade, posso rassicurarvi che è una situazione eccezionale: proprio lo scorso Luglio la provincia di Catania è passata alla raccolta rifiuti esclusivamente "porta a porta", con eliminazione dei cassonetti in strada - questo ha portato molti non ancora in regola con la tassa a gettare l'immondizia in strada in quanto non ricettori del servizio a domicilio. Se tornerete ancora, siamo certi che potrete nuovamente godere con strade pulite delle cose che più avete apprezzato: il clima ideale, un momento di benessere in piscina e in giardino, la vista del mare e dell'Etna dalla terrazza e soprattutto l'accoglienza di noi Siciliani che tanto ci inorgoglisce. Beautiful villa, lovely hosts!
Have just returned from a week in Sicily. The villa is fantastic - spacious, clean, with all amenities provided. The pool is great, and the grounds are beautiful - orange, lemon and fig trees, etc. Vera and Francesco were lovely - they meet us at Giarre and escorted us to the villa. Vera rode with us and pointed out the local shops and restaurants. A car is essential (even for the local shops), but the villa is convenient for trips to, eg, Taormina, Syracuse and Etna. Good local restaurants - especially La Spiga and Le Serre (and Speedy Pizza for a takeaway!). Overall highly recommended - would love to return for a longer visit!

Wundervoll!
Dies ist eine wundervolle Ferienwohnung, in der wir zu siebt 11 äußerst erholsame Urlaubstage genossen! Es beginnt mit der Kommunikation mit der Eigentümerfamilie: Zuverlässig, schnell und sehr zuvorkommend. Die Wohnung selbst ist super sauber und wir wurden sehr herzlich von Vera und Francesco empfangen, die für uns sogar den Kühlschrank aufgefüllt hatten. Die beiden waren während unseres Aufenthaltes immer um uns besorgt und bemüht. Die Küche ist voll ausgestattet, es ist genug von allem da. Der Pool ist toll und auch pikobello! Das Haus steht in Mitten von Zitronenbäumen und mit Blick zum Etna und dem Meer. Ein Traum! Wir können diese Ferienwohnung nur empfehlen und würden sehr gerne wieder unseren Urlaub dort verbringen.

Incredible property surronded by lemon trees with fantastic views both of the sea and Mt. Etna.
The villa is located in Riposto, a short 30-minute drive north from Catania airport. Nestled among lemon trees the villa has a stunning view of the sea in the front and Mt. Etna in the back. We were a party of 7 (3 adults and 4 children between the ages of 11 and 5) and everyone had an amazing time. The villa is kept in wonderful condition in a large part to the caretakers who have separate living quarters on the property and do a brilliant job with the landscaping and care of the property. We were there in late April and the smell of lilac, honey suckle, and lemon trees permeated the air. Even though it was early in the season the kids made use of the large and beautiful swimming pool. The Villa was spacious, airy, and immaculately clean. The bedrooms were all of a good size and the kids loved the top bedroom with the loft beds under the eaves. All the bedrooms had bathrooms attached and all were spacious and accommodating. With lovely spring weather most days we were there, we made most use of the large terrace which had sunlight all through the day. The caretaker can also be hired to cook dinner and you have a choice of 8 menus. We took advantage on two occasions and we were delighted with the home cooked, local Sicilian dishes. Even my more finicky kids devoured everything. If going out to eat, don't miss La Spiga, which is about 15 minutes away and has great service, excellent food at reasonable prices. The location of the villa is great for visiting anywhere on the East Coast. We could be in Taormina in 25 minutes and it was about an hour and 20 minutes to Siracusa. What really made the week special was the care and attention of the family that owns the property. They thought of everything to ensure a memorable vacation for my family. They were warm, friendly, and sincere. Communication was easy both before and during our stay. We're already contemplating a return trip.

A beautiful villa with a very warm welcome from the owners.
We had a lovely week in this villa. It is spacious and well equipped. We mostly self catered and found the kitchen had everything we needed including a fridge and a cupboard full of food - a really nice touch when you arrive hot and tired and without having managed a food shop on the way. We ate out on the terrace with wonderful views of the sea and Mount Etna. The bedrooms were all big and well appointed with air conditioning which we found very useful at night. In the day the house is quite cool with windows open and fans on. The villa is up a flight of stairs which wasn't a problem for us but might not be ideal for families with very young children or those with mobility problems. We were met by the owners at the motorway junction and taken to the villa so there were no problems finding our way. The owners were very welcoming and helpful as was the lady who lives next door and cleans the villa. The villa sits in generous grounds and the pool is wonderful for cooling down and generally enjoying. It takes a time to travel around locally but we did enjoy days in Taormina, Catania, Acireale and climbing Mount Etna. The villa is so lovely however it is quite tempting just to stay there!

A lovely stay in a very beautiful villa
We stayed two families in the beautiful villa and we really enjoyed our time there. The house is situated in a beautiful environment with a view of Etna on one side and a stunning ocean view on the other. The house is spacious, well planned, comfortable and high standard. It provided everything we could want for. The large pool was wonderful and the kids enjoyed swimming and playing in it every day. We spend a lot of time on the sunny terrace, eating all our meals and having a glas of prosecco in the evenings. Our hosts were very nice and helpful and one evening we took the opportunity to order some traditional Sicilian dinner and the local house wine, prepared by an employee on the property. The stay exceeded all our expectations and we warmly recommend staying here!
