“Best staff, friendly, gave us tips and info to make sure we had a great day in the city. Clean. Easy to get to by car and out of the way from the busy street and lots of free parking. Only a short walk from the city so for us it was just perfekt . For this price it is a wonderful hotel and we would love to return. ”
“Ett mycket trevligt och personligt litet hotell med unika rum. Vårt ganska litet med med en härlig liten tillhörande terass med två stolar och bord - och utsikt över den vackra vattenhorisonten. Vi fick komma in lite tidigare till rummet och hade även en halvtimma extra före utcheckning. De ordnade med liten tårta och bubbel för min man som fyllde år, utan extra kostnad. Hjälpsam och trevlig personal överlag. Vi kunde låna litet konto för att jobba med.

“There was no hot water in our stay at the tail end of winter. The electricity went out at 2 am. The property was amazing but if you’re staying to be close to downtown this property is 20 mins away by car. In the summer our issues may not be as critical but in 50 degree weather it was an ordeal to shower with ice cold water. Mateus the property manager was amazing and always ready to help but sadly there were things beyond his control. Graciela the chef made us an amazing breakfast ! The house...

“Domus Mariae Albergo är en filial till Benessere. Det innebär att frukost och SPA är i det större hotellet över gatan. Detta har en katolsk inramning även om det är öppet för allmänheten. På Albergo märks detta inte och vi hade ett jättefint rum med utsikt direkt över havet. Incheckning och information i receptionen var lätt och hjälpsam. Däremot var servicekänslan vid frukosten närmast obefintlig. Vi kom något för tidigt och blev tydligt ignorerade under serveringen. Kvällen innan tog vi combo...
“The place was in the middle of old town. Very close to the "beach"(2 min). Silent at night (heard only nabours who checked-in later in the evening).
Some rules for driving in to Ortigia, check busses from there to the train/busstation. Walking distances from hotel to the station is 25 min.”

"Vi hade fyra fantastiska nätter på Lanterna Magiche. Läget är superbra, nära till badplatserna, stadskärnan och bra restauranger. Personalen är väldigt hjälpsam och hjälpte oss med aktivitetsbokningar och taxi och vi hade ett helt otroligt rum. Det finns många terrasser och balkonger som går bra att använda och AC:n på rummet var otroligt skön när dagarna blev ordentligt varma. Jag skulle rekommendera alla ett besök och åker gärna tillbaka själv."
"For anyone who didn’t look at all the photos of this hotel, you’ll be staying in a petrol station, on the main road leading to Modica. While we could have looked through to image 25 and the satellite images, we had unfortunately not done so this time (but will be sure to do so in the future).
This was the start to a stay that left a lot to be desired. Cleaning at this supposedly 4 star property apparently does not involve ensuring that the bathroom is stocked with soap and schampoo. Neither does it involve removing dirty dishes (coffee cups provided by the hotel) nor does it involve changing visibly dirty bed linen. Just making the bed up as is and putting the dishes on the side is enough here.
The hotel also claim to have a private beach. We were sent on a wild goose chase by the front desk to find said beach, only to find that the place they sent us to didn’t exist, and once we had managed to find this supposedly private beach, it was indeed very private, but not for the guests of this hotel - but rather for guests staying at their separate hotel located on the beach.
All in all, this is a fantastic hotel if you want to spend your holiday keeping track on those who runs from their bill at the gas station. "
