Paradise
Perfect place to leave the world behind, to sit, to play, to dream. The water, surrounded by pines, is a touch of Maine. Herons, ducks, and tiny turtles swimming at the shoreline - nature abounds in the silence. Short walk to hiking trails, short drive to local restaurants - great one in Wyoming is called Wood River Bar & Grill. Sunday is karaoke night - the locals are a hoot! And talented! Highly recommend this cottage for the dreamer or the outdoorsman. Hosts are communicative, kind and helpful. This place cannot disappoint.

Perfect Autumn New England Getaway
I wanted my friends from work to experience Rhode Island how I, a native, knows it…outside of Providence or Newport which is where any of them have been. I told them there are parts of Rhode island that you’d think you were in Vermont or Upstate NY. Well this lake house is exactly what I wanted them to experience. The perfect New England getaway in the Fall Time. The reflection of the foliage was just starting and gave us a tease of what was to come over the next couple of weeks. The hustle and bustle of summer was over and we seemed to be the only people on the pond, although it is in such a peaceful location and the fact that there’s no motorboats on the pond, I’m sure there’s never much of a “hustle and bustle.” The house was clean and had a cabin vibe inside. It was perfect for “spooky season” but I would love to come back during the summer as well!

Great little pond
This was our second year staying at Wincheck Pond and it was just as great as the last. Our boys, ages 16 and 13, loved playing cornhole on the lawn and swimming off the beautiful beach. While there are a few other houses on the pond, most days we felt like the only ones around.

Tranquil family getaway
Our family was needing and looking forward to a fun, private, peaceful vacation. This place delivered and more! Situated on a private lake with a private sandy beach-like front with lots of water toys, this house had what we needed. Our boys, ages 9 and 11, loved fishing right off the dock and love to tell everyone they caught 100 fish (over our two week stay). My husband and I enjoyed drinking coffee and relaxing on the comfortable chairs right by the large windows overlooking the lake. The house is small but cozy and had all we needed. My parents came up for a few days and we were comfortable as a party of six. The water was clear around the beach, enough to see the bottom in depths over 5 feet. This was great for seeing the small fish swim around. Our boys loved viewing them with goggles as there were plenty of them and they were not shy. Mr. and Mrs. Huggins were excellent hosts, replying to every question quickly and ensuring we had all we needed and wanted. We enjoyed our stay so much that we will definitely be doing another trip to this quiet retreat.

Great Location
The location of this lake house is beautiful. A spectacular view of the lake from inside the house. The lake is peaceful and quiet. Our 7 year old grandson was excited and proud to catch his first fish in the lake, and went on to catch many more. He and his younger brother had a great time playing on the beach. The paddle board, kayaks and canoes were a big hit with the family, and got a lot of use. Bill was very responsive to any questions we had. We hope to come back again some day.

Just perfect!!
The house is outstanding with incredible views and a very nice private beach. Very cozy. Great WiFi. The house is well stocked with kitchen tools and cookware so that it is easy to prepare meals. The property owners (Bill and Alison) were very helpful. We definitely plan to return in the future!

Quietest spot, with all the amenities for canoeing, swimming, fishing, relaxing - and even a small sandy beach. Being ocean lovers, we were resistant to a lakeside getaway in the middle of nowhere - but one short visit and I'm sold. Look forward to many returns!

Lake House View
We're city folks, so sometimes we need to step back into nature to decompress. This lake house was the perfect way to reset. It's beautiful and very private. The only thing better than the view was the peace and quiet. Great place to relax.

Perfect get-a-way
What a wonderful stay we had! There simply aren't enough adjectives to describe this fabulous house (!) and all the extras that came with it such as a private beach, canoe, kayaks, beautiful surroundings, quiet neighborhood, etc etc. Highlights include listening to crickets as we fell asleep and waking up to the view of our own private beach right outside the door. Booking, checking in, and checking out were all seamless thanks to Bill (owner) who answered all my questions and took care of everything to make sure our stay would be great. Actually, this vacation was even better than 'great'; it was perfect! Hope to book again this fall : )

Absolutely the most enjoyable vacation
Absolutely the most enjoyable vacation ever. The cottage is amazing, roomy, private and you cannot beat your own sandy beach. You can enjoy the water either by swimming, fishing or using the kayaks, paddle boards or row boat. The home is also close to so many amazing places to visit both in CT and RI. Bill and Alison are the best hosts and we are so grateful that we were able to enjoy this beautiful property.

Best Family Vacation!
The house, beach front and amenities were even better than pictured. The house was immaculate and so well equipped. The beach is sandy and the water a gradual slope making it perfect for a toddler. We had plans to go sight seeing but never left! Kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, swimming and the quiet, relaxing setting was everything we needed to make this the best family vacation. We hope to return for many years to come.

Relaxing lake front perfect for kids
We had a great week at the lake house. My 2.5 year old spent all day in the water. The lake is so calm and quiet. The house is perfect for family and friends and having your own private beach is amazing. I highly recommend this. It is quiet and calm and close to everything, if you even want to leave. The best is just sitting in the water and relaxing. We hope to go back next summer for two weeks.

Always amazing…
Our second time staying at this beautiful property and it was everything we remembered and more. Be prepared for views that will take your breathe away in the most lovely, tranquil setting. Bill and Alison are wonderful hosts. They take excellent care of their property and provide guests with everything you could possibly need for an incredible time filled with lakeside fun. Wish I could submit a few pictures to show my kids (12, 14, & 16) having the time of their lives … just the sweetest memories! Location of this property is also great. We spent time in Essex CT (sweet town, did the train & ferry ride, highly recommend), and Mystic (aquarium… the beluga’s!)… C&L Stables in Warwick RI for an incredible time horseback riding …. Watch Hill for beautiful walks, lighthouse, ice cream, dunes, & beaches… Newport for sightseeing & Cliff Walk … ALL less than an hour away. And of course, have to mention the beautiful hiking trails literally right down the road from the lake house … Oh, and Festival Farm right down the road too, for feeding the animals and delicious pancake mix. Honestly, don’t hesitate…. book this property … it’s a dream and we look forward to visiting again.

Memories made at the lake!
We just got back from our trip over Memorial Day and had a great time! The property is very well taken care of and the views are fantastic. We have two young kids so it was so nice to have the beach right there and be able to go back and forth to the house as needed. It's also close enough so the baby monitor would reach during nap time. The water is very clear and my son enjoyed looking at all the fish and turtles. They also have everything you could want to enjoy your time at the lake, including boats, paddle boards, beach chairs and propane fire pit. The location is about 30 mins from Westerly, so we were able to make a trip there to have lunch on the ocean. Also went to the Roger Williams zoo another day, which was about 35 mins and the perfect size for young kids.

What an amazing home! Private, secluded, and within close proximity of all RI has to offer. My children loved their “private beach”, the slide, paddle boards and kayaks! We went fishing, boating and despite the colder temps in April this year- took a cold swim in the lake! Best winter getaway
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving here -- it's gorgeous, comfortable, and kid-friendly. And the view is UNREAL -- you are in beautiful countryside in a private, peaceful, super quiet home, and looking out at your own private beach and a huge expanse of sparkling late. The pictures really don't do it justice. But also, the house is extremely clean with a well-equipped kitchen, good heat for a winter stay, a fireplace, and comfortable furniture. Bill was a super thoughtful host, leaving flowers, cranberry sauce, and even an amazing super sweet pile of art supplies for my kids. We all agreed this was one of our favorite holidays.

Great place, if you can find it!
Address not GPS-friendly, from our approach, and pre-stay communication was minimal at best, so getting there was very difficult at night (even knowing which lake the house was on would have helped). Once there, though, we had a great time, and loved the place. Fun fishing and boating w/the kids, and a really interesting area of RI. We hope to visit again sometime!

Majestic Property!

Great location, great fishing. Nice having your own private beach. The beds for me were to hard for my back and the furniture wasn’t the same as in the pictures. Noise from the campground near by was more than expected. Overall, nice getaway.

The 1500 acre Yagoo Boy Scout Reservation has a portion that abuts the lake. ( They use their own Lake Yagoo for recreation.)Sometimes around sunset at the main gathering area which is about 3/4 of a mile from the house they will sing and do the camp cheer. We smile and many tenants have told us how much they enjoyed hearing them also. They do let us and our tenants use the hiking trails on their 1500 acres!

Fun but Relaxing, Rustic but Modern
We had a great stay at Bill and Allison's home. The home has so much cozy charm we felt like we'd been living there for years. The amenities inside the house were plenty - streaming services, WiFi, central Air, new kitchen appliances. The modernities add comfort to this otherwise rustic feel stay. The private beach was packed with kayaks, canoes, SUP and a row boat. We even found the electric motor to go with it. My advice is do a bit of research before taking the row boat out. We ended up in just enough wind where the friendly neighbors had to tow us back!! Thanks ladies!! Speaking of, everyone is so very friendly too. You don't bump into people necessarily but kayaking passers-by always wave and say hello. I enjoyed swimming in the refreshing, clear pond too. The fish are even friendly :) We enjoyed the fire pit on the beach at night, then inside for some board games and a few Netflix shows. This was such a relaxing but fun getaway, I'm already thinking about when to come back. Thanks Bill and Allison!

Relaxing and has all the amenities you need for enjoying time on the lake
Despite having crummy weather over the recent 2021 memorial day weekend we had a very relaxing time. Bill and Allison were very attentive to answering all our questions. The house was very clean and well decorated. Fantastic location on the lake. It offered all the amenities one would want: kayaks, a boat for fishing, fireplace outside for roasting marshmallows, a canoe, paddle boards. The beds were comfortable. Easy access to other locations across Rhode Island. The surrounding neighborhood was very quiet. I can’t wait to come back again when the weather cooperates.

Beautiful Lake House
Views....upon views...the kitchen was nicely stocked with a good flow. Beds comfy, furniture in great condition Lake toys a bonus...outside was perfect. So much to do for the outside. Relaxing, just hanging out for a girl's weekend... Was just what we needed! The only thing that would have been nice, if there had been screens for the upstairs bedrooms ..to allow for the beautiful lake breeze to flow through! Thanks so much!

Not a great experience
We booked a stay for TG 2020 and my husband's 40th bday. I had requested early check in and Bill was alright with it, so we arrived an hour early than usual check in time. The property on the outside is gorgeous! However we quickly realized the place is not well maintained, especially with respect to cleanliness. We were traveling with an infant, so obviously my son will be crawling all over the place. Once inside it was clear that the property was either not cleaned or who ever cleaned it did a very bad job! The kitchen especially had stains on the countertops, microwave on the inside had some spilt milk, a knife lying in the sink, garbage can with stains on the outside and no bags to be found anywhere, fridge had grocery left from previous guests and stains, used pair of gloves just hanging near the entrance, hair on the couch, floors had not been vacuumed, tv stand had dust and overall just an unkempt appearance. In a heightened pandemic, anyone would expect the property to be cleaned very well! I did not feel comfortable putting my child on the floor or on any of the furniture. Although the property itself is beautiful, it needs good maintenance and definitely needs thorough cleaning. However the shocking part in all of this is the owners reaction when I called. They asked us to vacate the property immediately when we told them it wasn't clean. For someone who drove 2 hours with an infant. Our infant got vaccinated earlier in the day and was also not well. We also spent 2 days packing so we can cook our TG meal there and after all this effort, it felt like a slap on the face. I mean who asks you to leave when you call to say the property is not clean?! I have traveled all over the world and this has been my worst experience. It was Bill and his wife who said at least twice that we vacate. We would have stayed if they just said they can send a cleaner or even sounded a bit apologetic. For someone running a business, it didn't seem like they are the kind of people who value their clients. They however insisted that they will refund. We stayed in the house for 20 mins and left immediately. We had an unhappy infant all the way and I will never forget that day! House owners - please learn to treat people with respect. The fact that you took the comment that your property is dirty so personally shows you lack professionalism. We do appreciate your refund.

Peaceful lake house gem!
I have stayed at many vacation rentals over the years and this one is by far the most beautiful and peaceful homes I have ever stayed at. The previous reviews are 100% accurate and the description and pictures do not fully capture the magic of this property. The home is located on a remote and majestic lake with startling views from every room in the house. The house has its own private beach on a lake with boats, beach games for the kids, and a gas fire pit. We sat for hours inside the house looking out onto a lake through large windows that allowed us to feel like we were outside while enjoying the benefits of a warm house with plenty of room for the family. We would definitely come back to rent again. Bill was extremely communicative and hospitable. He gave us wonderful information about beautiful hiking trails nearby and answered any questions we had. If you want to experience the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of your daily life, this is the perfect retreat.
