I am shocked to receive this review. On the day after your arrival at mid day you phone to say that you had washed all the linen and were in the process of washing the towels when the washing machine broke down. You were supplied with 9 towels. When you said you were not prepared to be available for a plumber to call I arranged for a new machine to be delivered. This was plumbed in at 9am the following morning. In the meantime you were supplied with fresh linen and towels. The bites you received were probably mosquitos as, despite having mesh screening and mosquito traps it is hard to avoid bites at this time of year. I absolutely refute the sugestion that you were supplied with stained linen or dirty kitchen ware. I was there in May and checked that everything was in order. My housekeeper, who prides herself on her work is absolutely meticulous about cleanliness, as attested to by our many happy guests. Neither I nor my friends, who were the only residents before you smoke, and it is strictly forbidden to do so in the villa. We go out of our way to look after our guests and are sorry that you were unhappy with our endeavours on your behalf.

I thank you for your review and would like to address the issues you raise. Because of the pandemic we had to suspend in-person meet and greet. On the 3rd April, two days before your arrival, Stephanie contacted you to welcome you to Spain and to offer you an early check in, as your flight was arriving in the morning. This you availed of. The villa has instruction manuals for all equipment and, a folder. In several languages, gives a summary of these. This information is also on the inside of the front door. My husband and I spent five weeks before your arrival, at the villa, during which a deep clean of the entire building was performed, including, in accordance with Covid regulations, disinfecting and sterilizing all items that would be used by our guests, especially crockery and cutlery. The weather during this time was the worst in living memory, including almost constant sand laden rain, which made outside maintenance of the villa impossible, including our efforts to keep the terraces free of wet sand. Stephanie and Steve went to the villa the day before you arrived to do their usual meticulous clean, and were distressed that, due to heavy rain, which persisted up to the day of your arrival and after, they were unable to clean the terraces. I conveyed my apologies to you for this. On the 14th, when you enquired when the clean might be done, Stephanie, who had been ill during your stay, offered to do it on the 18th, which was the earliest she could come. You declined this offer and were subsequently given €60 as a gesture of good will. I agree that the outside of the villa was not as pristine as you would have expected, and as we would have wished, but on this occasion, the weather defeated our best efforts. I am sorry we did not meet your expectations, as we always strive to give our guests the best possible experience, which is attested to by the many positive reviews on our site.

Thank you so much for your comments. The cutlery we use is very good quality stainless steel. I had'nt heard of bleach being used before, but some people say it gives it an extra sparkle, so I will pass that on to Stephanie. I am sorry you were disappointed with the towels, but these were replaced with new ones, as soon as you told us about them. The villa was completely repainted earlier in the year and a new walk-in shower was installed. It is also fully air-conditioned. We continue to work on giving our guests the best experience possible and your comments will assist us in so doing Kind regards Mary.
