Fint hotell i lugnt område. Det enda negativa var att sängarna var hårda.

Ett helt okej hotell i trevligt område

Ett helt okej hotell, men vi tyckte inte alls att det var så märkvärdigt som många andra resenärer antytt i sina recensioner/betyg. Bor oftast på fyrstjärniga hotell och detta stack inte ut hakan. Inredningen i rum 809 (och på hotellet i övrigt) var rätt tråkig. TVn funkade inte, men de fixade det snabbt. Likaså funkade bara ett av eluttagen för svensk kontakt. Har aldrig tidigare behövt använda en adapter i Italien, och då har vi ändå bott runt på många ställen genom åren, men verkar alltså finnas två parallella system. Så det är ett tips att ta med! Frukosten var okej, men inte mer. Färskpressad apelsinjuice det enda att hurra för. De bjuder på afternoon tea mellan 16-18 varje dag. Detta är ett trevligt initiativ, men det som bjuds är inget särskilt. Typ frukostrester. Hotellpersonalen var jättegullig och hjälpsam så allt gott om dem. Det finns ett trevligt bibliotek innanför lobbyn/på väg till frukostmatsalen = ett plus. Hotellet ligger väldigt vackert uppe på en kulle, i ett lugnt och tyst område, och det tar ca 10 min att gå till tunnelbanan. På så sätt perfekt läge om man inte vill befinna sig i händelsernas centrum (eller störas av biltrafik).

Great hotel with great breakfast

We had an amazing time at this perfect hotel. The breakfast was great with fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh bread, croissants, eggs and bacon and everything you could possibly ask for.

Très bon hôtel, toutefois les finitions de la chambre pour un 4 étoiles laisse à désirer,le personnel ne parle pas bien anglais,mais personnel très agréable et serviable, un hôtel idéalement placé Avec des services au top dans un quartier calme.petit déjeuner génial il y en a pour tout les goûts,vous ne serez pas déçus, mais l'hôtel ne fait pas restaurant. Nous vous conseillons cet hôtel

Midden in het oude Rome en toch buiten

Sfeervol hotel op prachtige plek. De wijk Aventino op een van de 7 heuvelen van Rome is ruim en groen met 17e eeuwse villa's, kerken en kloosters. Prachtig uitzicht vanaf de nabijgelegen sinaasappeltuin over Rome.Prima uitvalsbasis om Rome te verkennen. Je loopt vanaf het hotel gemakkelijk naar Trastevere of het Colloseum. De wijk Testaccio met zijn authentieke en gezellige restaurants is vlakbij. Personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het ontbijt was top. Heerlijk verblijf. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Romantic getaway

Very beautiful hotel in a stylish, quiet area. Not far from city center (about 15 min. walk) and even closer to Trastevere. Hotel is pretty small and looks posh.Nicely decorated rooms and at least our superior room was good size with a very beautiful bathroom. Breakfast room is very nice and breakfast itself is better than average in Italy. Staff is polite and helpful, wifi was fast, cleaning good... Really can't find anything negative to say about our stay there and would most definitely recommend to others. Maybe the only reason not to go again would be that next time would be nice to be right in the middle of all action, but that is the only one.

Everything is good, and highly recommend At first you might have a little trouble find the hotel, but after that everything couldn't be better ... Recommend take a taxi from the train station to hotel on arrival day...

Super choice for those looking for a quiet hotel and quiet location just a short drive or walk into the city. Lovely unique rooms and garden restaurant. Recommended.

Nice Spot in Peaceful Area

My husband and I chose this location in Rome for part of our Honeymoon vacation to Europe. We chose it based on good reviews, and the photos. This was the ambiance we hoped for in this old city. I let the hotel know in advance that this was a Honeymoon trip, and I paid the extra amount for a Superior Double - hoping for something magnificent. My first impressions were frustrating at best, but by the end I was nicely pleased. I had written and asked for directions from the train station - and received directions from the train station to the Metro, but not from the Metro to the hotel. The Metro seemed to be in the middle of no where - so we struggled with our luggage until someone would help us with directions! It was all uphill! I promise - this is not an exaggeration! When we reached the hotel - perch near the to of Aventine Hill - we were drenched and exhausted! Luckily for us the porter quickly brought us some blood orange juice while we caught our breath. The clerk looked at us and said Why you didn't take a taxi? We had even seen a taxi until we were almost to the hotel door. So that was frustrating. We presented small gifts we brought with us celebrating our Honeymoon. Our room was nicely decorated, very Roman looking, and room for all of our belongings. I was slightly sad that this did not look any more special than a standard double room - and did not match the description that other guests had mentioned ... sweeping views of the city, or a private balcony. But it was nice. The air conditoning was great and never failed during their record breaking heat wave. The WIFI was free and worked perfectly. About 20 minutes after our check in, the porter arrived with a small tray including two little bottles of champaigne and a bowl of chips - complements of the hotel. Very nice! Good points? Hotel Clerk Vincenzo was perfecto in helping us figure out how to get to the places we wanted to see and was funny! The porters were all very nice and professional. The breakfast each morning was great! The area is peaceful and beautiful, and very close to the Colleseo and the ancient ruins. The less perfect points? If you are old, or have children in strollers, climbing the hill to the hotel after a long day of sightseeing is a challenge. The bathroom in our room (which included a bidet), had a shower/bath that could be envied by some - but would have been impossible for my mother or little children to get in or out of. This, of course, could have been accomodated by a request to change a room, I suppose. The Metro Circo Massimo is a bit of a walk, (down the hill) - or Metro Piramide (also down the hill) are not especially close, but if you don't mind walking are doable. The is train access at Piramide. This does not relate to the hotel, but August is the month many locals go on holiday, so many shops and eateries were closed.

I've only been to Rome once, but staying at the Hotel Sant'Anselmo made things a lot easier for me. A easy taxi ride from the train station, they immediately made us feel at home. It was our honeymoon and they upgraded us to a beautiful suite. It was an absolutely stunning room, especially when considering the size of most European hotel rooms. They have a great outdoor area, and it is a short 15-20 minute walk to the Colosseum. Very helpful staff. Rome can be an intimidating place for a first timer, but staying here made it a lot easier on us. Can't say enough good things about this place.

Gorgeous hotel away from the hustle and bustle.

Highly recommend this hotel! It's away from the centre of Rome but still close enough to walk to all the main tourist spots. The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming during our stay. We were starting our honeymoon here and couldn't have asked for a better place to start! We ate breakfast outside in the walled garden listening to the local birds rather than traffic noise which was a great way to start the day! Lots of authentic Italian restaurants nearby too. Would definitely stay here again if we visit in the future.

Uitstekend hotel,

Uitstekend hotel, bijzonder goede verhouding prijs/kwaliteit. Zeer sfeervol, heerlijk ontbijt. De kamers zijn klein, maar goed. Wij kregen een iets grotere kamer wat ik zeer gastvrij en heel prettig vond. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Ligging is rustig en goed :het colloseum is op een kwartiertje lopen.

Great location for a 30 min walk to main shopping district, main historical sites 20 mins walk, lovely local restaurants nearby (ask for recommended list at check in) at varying price ranges, very friendly staff, great breakfasts and afternoon tea.

Beautiful hotel in peaceful location

We stayed here for 5 nights. When we arrived we were greeted with a glass of fruit juice each - which was very welcome. On being shown to our room we were given strawberries and prosecco to celebrate our anniversary - lovely! The room itself (809) was small but comfortable. The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath which was just what was needed after a day walking around the sites of Rome. The down side to the bathroom is that there was nowhere to put anything and we kept dropping things off the edge of the basin - it needs a sink and a lower level towel rail. Every afternoon there is a free afternoon tea for guests which was very welcome. Staff at the hotel were all excellent and extremely helpful at all times. The recommended local restaurants weren't very good and perhaps the recommended list needs to be updated. Rome itself is very beautiful - if viewed from the hills above - the city centre is far too crowded and it is not easy to see things well. The queues for the vatican were so long that we didn't go in, which was a shame, but when you only have a few days time is too precious to spend hours in a queue. We saw some lovely churches and basilicas on the hills around Rome - 2 very close to the hotel. I also saw the Pope as he did an Ash Wednesday walkabout at the church very close to the hotel! We also did a day trip to the coast which was a lovely contrast to the city. The Aventine area is a quiet area but only a few minutes walk from the main sites of Rome so if you don't mind
