The room is spread over two levels and connected by a very narrow, steep spiral staircase. If you are on crutches or otherwise have walking limitations, use of the upstairs is impossible. However, the bed is located there. It is comfortable. Drawback: very warm upstairs, as directly under the roof.

An adequate stay, couple of tweaks required
I really enjoyed my stay, clean, friendly, good food and wine selection and a reasonable rate. A couple of issues with The Scotney room, 1st of which was head height in the bedroom, Im 6 foot 1 and could not stand up straight, even in the point of the ceiling. I think this should be advertised along with the futon height bed, to avoid disappointment and manage customer expectation. Secondly, several of the light switches did not work, and at least 2 of the electric plug sockets were loose on the walls not leaving a great overall impression let alone the potential health and safety issues.

Wonderful quirky property
Our stay was wonderful, such a lovely quirky little property which was warm and cosy. The staff were amazing and accomodating to us and our children and made us feel so very welcome. The only negative from us was check in time from 3pm, we had the polar express booked at 4pm and would have loved to be checked in and freshened up before we went but this was not available. If check in could be made earlier I think it would be a positive.

The room was awful. Very cold to start with, The bathroom flooded every time the shower was used. One of the TV (bedroom) had rubbish reception. The staff were friendly especially Fiona. The pub and the food was good.

What a great little find.
Great place. The photos on the website don’t do the place justice. It was lovely. The only one comment and wasn’t really a problem as I found it funny was the bedroom was up a set of spiral stairs and the ceiling height in the roof void bedroom was at best 5ft 6” and I’m 6ft 4”. Wasn’t a problem though. Great place. Great food. Great staff.

Tiny rooms, bedroom so tiny no space to stand in ,
Our room was tiny with sofa downstairs with WC, but bedroom was in loft tiny no room to stand, on your knees to climb on bed and no space. Spril narrow wooden slippery staircase to go to loft. WC downstairs. So difficult to go at night.

Really disappointed
As the title of this review states we were really disappointed. The hotel looked lovely on arrival set in a pub on a vineyard. However, my wife needed to go to the toilet but found that it was clearly not cleaned (hopefully no explanation necessary). We contacted reception and had to wait for them to clean it, whilst the cleaner was protesting that she had cleaned it earlier. While we were waiting we investigated further, and the room clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a while as there was a thick layer of dust on the kettle , and around the windows. Also the mezzanine level bedroom looked great but was completely impractical. I’m only 6ft, but i could only stand up in about a foot wide space, with the roof sloping sharply down to about 3 ft high. On a positive the shower and wet room were nice once cleaned. We didn’t eat at the pub because we were totally put off by the cleanliness, but was a nice location for a drink.

Great staff and good food - maybe a bit above norm
This is an extremely busy pub on a sunny day massive outdoor area and obviously very good at catering for this Room was very well fitted but very small and hot. The bed was up a narrow spiral staircase in to rafters which is not sensible if you are less mobile. Room was hot but i couldn't open the window as the AC unit for what i would assume was the cellar as it was on all night and very noisy.

Review of Bacchus Room
Room was very compact with narrow steep spiral staircase to the bed area. Would not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Food and service good.

Lovely little room in a very nice pub with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect for a break away from London for a couple of nights - lots of countryside walks nearby ans a couple of other nice pubs for a chance of scene. Room was very nice and clean with a spacious walk-in shower and cute sofa area with TV for relaxing. We also found it quiet despite being near a busy road and in a popular pub. Only downsides were a lack of hairdryer in the room, the lights didn’t work downstairs and it was a bit tricky to get down the spiral stairs in the night if you need to use the bathroom! It was also extremely busy when we first arrived and almost didn’t get a car parking space - it would be good to have reserved spaces for guests staying the night. Overall we really enjoyed our time at The Vineyard and we will definitely be returning in the future!

Great place in the heart of Kent.
Nice locations and good staff. The rooms were well furnished with everything that you would expect. The staff were great and the breakfast outstanding. The local area had fantastic countryside.

Amazing place, great atmosphere
Lovely place to stay, staff were extremely attentive and food was amazing. Only small downside was the fact that we could hear music blaring from the kitchen from 9am each morning through the bedroom window

Not as Expected
The accommodation said for 4 people and pictures made it look much larger than it is. its really for two people, or at the most 2 Adults and two small children. Sofa Bed wasn't made up on arrival so had to stand around while it was made up as it was raining. we had to shove the Coffee table under the stairs with the the fan on top as there was no room to move. Towels were good, be aware bathroom door which was downstairs you could see through Sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable feel every bar so 15 year old grandson slept on the floor We would book again for Two people not suitable for Four Though

Beautiful pub, budget accomodation.
Really beautiful looking pub and beer gardens. Booking in was pleasant, there was no breakfast being served in the morning so when checking in, the bar tender kindly bought me a add hot water porridge for the morning. On first look, the rooms look stylish, however the fittings are low quality. The spiral stairs creaked on every step, the whole spiral staircase moves as you walk up them. I had to walk sideways going up the stairs as the spiral was soo narrow. The shower panels were falling away from the wall, the toilet moved as you sit on it. The fire alarm went off after I'd had a 2 minute shower at 7am, waking up everyone else in next 3 rooms. NO FIRE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE ROOM!! Nobody answered the phone when I rang albeit a handy man did come eventually. The coffee machine didn't work, leaked everywhere . No-one there in the morning at 8am to checkout. I would have hoped that customer service would be key to try and keep repeat custom in the current climate...

There is no team members on site until 10am this should have been explained on check in. We will do training with the team to ensure that this doesn't happen again in the future.
