Very friendly staff. Avoid room 8 it was very noisy from the road especially when the hotel was having deliveries early in the am.

One of the room's window was adjacent to a very loud kitchen extractor that was left on all night. Breakfast was great.

Convenient. Actually good room standards although the last room I had was not up to usual standard...heating poor (mid Jan, expected better) Breakfast very good ! Bar prices are high for the area. Good parking. I prefer to stay here when in Royston.

This is very much a brasserie/bar more so than a hotel. Our room was right above the bar with noise until late and the pillows were very thin. The radiator didn't work in our room and the big old-fashioned windows which would add character and charm just added to the chill. However the thick curtains did well to block out cold and light. Some nice touches (e.g. the robes, presentation of the room) and decent food, but falling short on a few more essential aspects.

Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel. We have stayed a few times. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice. My only complaint is that our room wasn’t serviced on the Saturday, and although I was able to get tea bags etc from the bar, our cups were obviously still dirty from the morning cuppa when we returned in the evening. This slightly took the edge off the stay, but on the whole, I’ve the place.

Bedrooms cold initially radiator in main room didn’t work but was electric heater that took a while to get going. Room lovely and big. Breakfast disappointing limited, no fruit options, porridge or granola options, some boxed cereals but very limited. Cooked breakfast and coffee lovely.

Fairly good, bit on the pricy side.
We enjoyed our stay, but felt it was a tad overpriced for what it was. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean and well presented.

Very disappointing
unclear where reception was no bannisters on stairs safety hazard. Sash windows rattled all night need a proper blnd in bathroom net not sufficient on high street. poor breakfast ony two cereals offered and croissants looked stale. nobody aound to speak to no checkout procedure.

Very unpleasant
Room not as described. No bath, no coffee machine. Only 3 hangers in wardrobe. Dark and dingy but bright as day when you turn the lights off all lurid green glow. Aerial damaged and falling out of TV. Manageress rude and unhelpful as she had never had any issues before! Room not serviced you have to ask but they don't tell you when you book in. Shower soaks whole room inc toilet and paper. No heating until third night. Aircon only works on cold. Cannot understand why always fully booked

The photographs were misleading upon checking in very messy cardboard boxes left around a half drank bottle of pop, tables with food left, floors dirty, tables not wiped down very grubby. Bed extremely uncomfortable had to lie on pillows to stop mattress digging into hips, on the booking informed it was a special birthday but no mention of it at breakfast asked for bacon and sausage to be well done it came pink and undercooked when pointed this out bacon came back well done but sausage still pink and undercooked. The images made it look like a big house in its own grounds it was next to a main road. A table in the dining room had a cotton napkin under one leg to stop it wobbling. Such a shame

Dirty Room
Mixed review, the staff were wonderful and the food was delicious, however the room was unacceptable. It was dirty, there was hair in the shower from the previous guest, coffee cups were dirty with coffee rings inside, I had to clean the mug myself. It was really basic and unclean, not the boutique experience that I was sold on the website.

air conditioning on an extremely hot night was an absolute boon. The bathroom was large and luxurious with separate shower and roll top bath, double basins - bliss.

Lovely Hotel

Excellent service nothing was too much trouble everyone very friendly. Loved the fact we had dressing gowns and hair straighteners . Bed was very comfortable shower was great will definitely be back .

We stayed at the hotel as we were having tasting at South Farm wedding venue. The restaurant was packed. We had a spacious room with a luxurious shower room. Breakfast next day was delicious with an offer of full English or the more exotic. My husband went for the sweet potato and chorizo hash with poached eggs whilst I went for the smashed avocado with chilli and poached eggs on sourdough.

Overnight stay
A one night stay the local town was full of places to eat... We chose to stay at the Banyers for dinner... We were not dissapointed. The food was excellent the staff were attentive without being overbearing.. However a wait of half an hour to take dessert order was just too much so we didn't have one. That was the only complaint.. That and the noisy chairs scraping on to stone floor making the restaurant a noisy place.

Hotel room next to kitchen extractor fan
The hotel room was above the kitchen of the hotel and customer toilets. On top of the noise coming from both of those areas the extractor fan for the kitchen was right outside my window. The manager said it would be off by 22.00 but it was on till midnight and when I called reception there was no answer. In the morning I went to make coffee to find there were no coffee sachets or pods for the machine provided. I tried to call for room service and again there was no answer so I had to go to the bar and order it to be bought to the room. It arrived at 25 minutes later and was cold. I explained what had happened to the manager in the morning and was met with a dismissive and surly attitude. I even showed him the recording I had taken of the fan still being on at midnight and he shrugged his shoulders at me. It’s a real shame as the room itself was actually incredibly well decorated and very interesting compared to a lot of places I have stayed. That being said I wouldn’t stay here nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to get a decent sleep or any level of customer service.

Superb boutique hotel
Short stay for a business trip in nearby Cambridge. Very well decorated and classy. Excellent food with private outdoor pods (heated). Excellent boutique hotel overall! Donna in particular was outstanding.

Brilliant Banyers
This is a brilliant place to stay. It's in a great location from which to explore Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and the surroundings, but whatever you're doing it's a lovely, warm, welcoming hotel. Rudi and the staff really take an interest in seeing that you're looked after, and this shows in the food, the service, and the fact that it seems the most popular venue in the town. Well done and thank you to all.

Good, but could be better
We did have a good stay. When arriving, it wasnt initally clear where to check in. We waited by the bar and someone helped and checked us in. We had a couple of drinks before going up to our room, the cocktails were very nice. The table we sat at hadn't been wiped though and there some stains on the sofa. The bloke behind the bar was really helpful and brought our drinks over. The room was clean, bed was comfy and the bathroom was spacious. There was no menus in the room which could have been helpful. No room service which was advertised on hotels.com. Breakfast food was good, though the restaurant could have used a good sweep, table was sticky in places and the stairs to the bedroom needed a good hoover too. Would have just tidied the place up a little. Staff all helpful though and quick service. I feel this place needs a little bit if love and attention to detail. The bedroom was clean and service was always good which is the main thing, cant fault that.

Wow what a lovely place to stay it was our 15th Wedding Anniversary yesterday and we were attending a wedding close by. Room was clean and tidy, staff very welcoming. Breakfast was amazing. Would highly recommend and will be back in the future

Really big garden and good food. Room was nice, bit tired but fine. No parking available on arrival due to the business of the pub / restaurant, but freed up by late evening. Staff all really friendly.
