The Salty Fox-modern vintage cabin with fireplace

Updated cozy cabin centrally located to midtown Ruidoso and all the shopping, activities and Grindstone lake. The wood burning fireplace is perfect for warming up after a long day snow skiing on the mountain. One great feature of this property is the level roads and parking in this midtown location. Wildlife viewing can be done right outside the window with many deer seen in the front yard. We are pet friendly with a fenced backyard.

I am available to help with any issues you may have or suggestions you may need!

Located in the heart of midtown, close to shopping and activities. We are also located close to Grindstone lake and hiking.

You will have access to the entire cabin and fenced backyard.

Two private bedrooms with queen beds, and individual climate controls with mini split units.

Roads here are paved to the cabin and are flat and well maintained with dedicated parking right at the cabin. Cabin is approximately 1.15 hour drive from the Roswell Airport, 7 hour drive from DFW, 3:45 hour drive from Lubbock, 2:45 hour drive from Albuquerque,NM, and a 2:15 hour drive from El Paso.

This was in a very convenient location and quiet neighborhood. The grass in the backyard was very high, and the mattresses are needing to be replaced.

Not so great

Cabin was not very clean. Only one cleaner under sink. Kitchen was not very well stocked with utensils, no sharp knives. Old coffee creamers. Backyard had dog poop in several locations on arrival. Also, old rotten wood on far side of yard. Overall ok, but would not stay there again.

Awesome location and super attentive host!

The house was definitely modern vintage. We loved the wood burning fireplace and the kids loved making smores at the fire inside. We noticed some small things that we needed and the host was incredibly attentive and had everything taken care of within a couple hours of us checking in. While in Ruidoso, we went fishing at Grindstone lake and the location was very close and easy to get to. We loved our stay and will be back in the future!

Cute Cozy Cabin

Very Clean cozy cottage and close to town and Grindstone lake. Deer were roaming the yard on our arrival and we saw other animals to. Kitchen had everything you would need although we ate out. The yard is fenced and private. The cottage was very clean and pictures were accurate. We did need to contact the Host about the Hot Tub not working and she let us know that it was brand knew and she promptly sent a couple to the property to trouble shoot the problem (low water). There are booklets for the a/c-heater and the spa in the top drawer of the dresser if needed. I was appreciative of the cottage having (4) minimal steps at the entry for us older folks and no steps to the back yard as most of the rentals for this town.

Weekend getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the cozy cabin. We had wine upon arrival. Pictures were exactly as shown. Very close to casino. The only recommendation I have is to ensure comfortable quality pillows. Some of the pillows were super thick and not comfortable.

Cute quiet neighborhood

The house looked exactly like the pictures. Very cute. We loved that the backyard was fenced but the grass was worse than I expected, some areas were quite tall. We walked our pups up and down the street and felt safe. Communication with the owner was great. We would stay there again.

Nice, calm Fourth of July getaway

The cabin and its location was great. It had every thing we needed for our stay. The property manager was flexible and worked with me on allowing me to take my dogs. The only reason my overall rating was a 4 instead of a 5 was because the backyard needs some cleaning especially from previous dog waste. The back yard has a slab of concrete which helped because that’s mostly where my dogs stayed.

Ruidoso Getaway

Location was very good, close to midtown Ruidoso and nearby lake. Horse track made a great afternoon outing. House was well appointed although missing gas grill for grilling outside. Elk, wild horses and deer frequented the area. Very enjoyable stay.
