We checked in and were given a phone number to call if we had any issues. Nobody ever answered. We couldn't get towels. We left messages. The front porch was filthy. We had to clean a table ourselves to use. Someone came in to make breakfast - and that was good.

We were looking for a clean quiet place to stay while on our skiing trip, and we found it here plus more wonderful things. First the accommodations were clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. And the breakfast was beyond fabulous! There were daily offerings of fresh fruit and baked goods. Also an offering of fresh cooked eggs to your specifications or french toast. In addition, endless offerings of tea, coffee, cocoa and snacks. The home was beautiful and well maintained in addition to being safe. The neighborhood was walkable with many places to eat, shop and for entertainment. Nearby there is a movie theater and a bowling alley. Both were fun additional entertainment. We had such a great time and definitely will be coming back.

Property needs an overhaul

My family and I arrived on the Monday of our kid's vacation week. We called twice to let them know we would be arriving a little bit past 8PM (we actually arrived at 8:07PM). There was no one in sight and very few guests for what was supposed to be their busiest week of the year. The check-in process was disappointing. We called the number left at the unattended welcome desk and left a voice mail. Then, we were able to reach a young woman who said "it would be 10-15 minutes" before she could be there. When she arrived, she was not friendly and less than helpful. While we were waiting to check-in, another guest came into the area. She laughed with us saying "there are very few people around." This is telling for vacation week. The room was spacious and fit our family of four well. Our room had a loft with a double and twin so our 16 year old twins were well accommodated. Sadly, the decor of the room - and the inn - is very dated. I realize this is a classic "Victorian Inn" but the decorations and window treatments seem to stuck in the 40's. To top it off, the half canopy above our king bed had cob webs. It was a bit eerie. The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was adequate, however we had a myriad of problems with the hot water. After calling 3 times and supposedly fixing the problem, the water stayed hot for about 3 minutes then went lukewarm. Breakfast was decent and the lady who prepared it was very friendly.

Very nice Inn. We had a wonderful, spacious room. Had a small plumbing problem which was taken care of quickly. Our room was up front on Main Street and a bit noisy until about 9pm and then again early. Breakfast was great! A nice restaurant across the street delivered one of our favorite meals on a 14 day trip. The area is beautiful. We would visit again.

The sitting rooms were nice to play cards in. The breakfast was wonderful with homemade goodies. Loved looking out the window and seeing the Fall leaves fall!

Fall road trip to Maine

Quite a small room for a B&B but lovely. Nice front gallery to sit and have a tea or glass or f wine. Conveniently located within walking distance to many nice restaurants. Very good breakfast, with a choice of what you want from pancakes to French toast, any kind of eggs, sausage and bacon. Nice homemade jams and fresh fruit. All kinds of breads, we had pumpkin We would definitely go back.

Exterior of property is in need of upkeep. No one greeted us at front desk. Had to call the front desk from mobile phone and no one answered. We could hear someone talking but no one in sight. More than 5 minutes passed before Lisa entered with no apology. I don’t think the room had heat. Was told by Lisa that at breakfast They would make whatever we desired. When I asked for an omelet, I was sternly told “No. we’re not making omelets today”.

Liked the Victorian type house. Liked the morning breakfast being individually cooked to order. Lady was very helpful and pleasant. The girl checking us in seemed a little cold. Did her job but she was doing as little as possible.

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay! The Inn was clean and spacious. The staff was amazing! Plus, the breakfast was delicious (fresh & homemade)! We can't wait to go back! Plus, you cannot beat the location - walk to restaurants and shops in Bethel! Best value in the Bethel/Sunday River area!
