The hotel is great. The area around the hotel is pretty rough. A huge fight between teens broke out which put a damper on a weekend staycation but besides that I would definitely come again. Security could definitely be upgraded

We came for a concert at Golden 1 Center. I was concerned about safety and wanted to be close to the arena. The hotel is so close that you don’t even have to walk on a street. It is extremely safe. I will be booking this hotel in the future. Staff was great. Room was clean. View from balcony was excellent.

Beautiful property right across from Golden 1. It is a little difficult to find the entrance to the property and parking is a pain - only valet available through the hotel. There is a parking garage attached but we were unable to use it because there was a Kings game the night we arrived and it was closed to court side ticket holders only. Plenty of great places to eat and drink nearby, and the hotel has a free cocktail hour in their lobby daily.

The room was incredible dusty all over. Check in took over 20 minutes from the time we got in line and there was only 1 person waiting to check in before me. Doesn't seem to be worth the premium price they are charging for the service you get in return.

It was a nice place. Clean and well appointed. I didn’t see much value in spending $475 per night though. It’s just a clean hotel, and the Holiday Inn just yards away for the same price AND it has a working hot tub.

Not up to the standard I expect from a Kimpton at all. The staff was very unhelpful and didn't really seem to care at all. Often even seemed annoyed by questions.

We like the location of the property. It is next to the Golden 1 Center. The housekeeping team stopped by several times throughout our stay to restock our room. The room service was excellent; we did not wait a long time for our order. We did not like that we had to wait over an hour and a half to be checked in. Front Desk: Initially, there were only two front desk representatives when several groups were checking in. In our view, the hotel was not prepared for the number of individuals checking in. Housekeeping: The front desk did what they could; however, they blamed the housekeeping team for the delay. Housekeeping's lack of scheduling enough staff reflects on hotel management overall. Room: The carpet in the room was stained and dirty. No microwave in the suite? The suite pocket door needed oiling. Other: A fire alarm went off. After going down five flights of stairs (I am disabled), to find out that it was a test was disappointing and painful. The stairways and handrails were dirty as well.

My family and I spent New Year’s in Sacramento and chose Kimpton Sawyer Hotel to start the New Year. We made the right choice. It is a lovely hotel. The staff is amazing, as soon as we walked in we were greeted with a drink and offered help with our luggage. The waiting area is very nice and cozy. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Room service is on it as is the bell man. We had two different bell men and they were both very kind. Everyone all around was very helpful, cheerful and friendly. Definitely will be a place to visit again.

First room we were assigned was dirty unfortunately, but they gave us a new room and a $50 credit for the inconvenience so that was kind. After that, our stay was pleasant. Definitely wasn’t “soundproof” as the rooms stated, but still pretty quiet aside from random people being loud in the halls. The hotel itself was very well decorated in the lobby and had a very elegant feel. The rooms are a bit more dated, but overall a nice stay.
