La Prairie: Country House Near Sarlat in the Périgord Noir

This stone house, part of a restored historic farmhouse, is located on a hill in a quiet, lush hamlet 3 km from St. Geniès—a typical village with slate-roofed houses—and from Sarlat, in the heart of the Périgord Noir.

Its east- and south-facing orientation offers a magnificent panoramic view of the valley.

Ideally situated for exploring the treasures of the Périgord (traditional villages, castles, caves, troglodyte sites, remarkable gardens, and fine dining), the property is located halfway between the Vézère Valley and the Dordogne Valley, Sarlat (10 km), Montignac-Lascaux IV (10 km), Les Eyzies (10 km), and its many castles and notable sites.

To recharge your batteries and explore the region in a different way, numerous marked trails will allow you to discover the area; the Dordogne and the Vézère, two magnificent rivers, are perfect for canoeing and river swimming.

The many farmers’ markets offer the chance to sample regional specialties (walnuts, chestnuts, truffles, duck, goose, and porcini mushrooms) in a festive and friendly atmosphere.

•Living Room / Open Kitchen: sofa, coffee table, and 2 armchairs; dining area; kitchen equipped with a microwave, dishwasher, gas stove with electric oven, range hood, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, electric coffee maker, pressure cooker, vacuum cleaner, and iron.
• Bathroom: toilet, walk-in shower, sink, hair dryer, and shelf.
• Bedroom: 1 double bed (140 cm), 2 nightstands, dresser, wardrobe, and closet.
First floor:
• Bathroom: Toilet, shower, sink, shelf.
• Bedroom: 1 double bed (140 cm), 1 sofa bed for a young child (107 cm wide x 178 cm long), dresser.
• Baby accessories: We provide a travel crib, high chair, and baby bathtub free of charge.

OUTDOORS:
• Private wooden deck with a small table, chairs, and a parasol, facing due east.
• Private lawn, partly shaded and partly sunny, 200 m², facing south with a table under a pergola and trees, patio furniture, lounge chairs, and a barbecue.
• Private parking in front of the cottage.
• 7x3.5m swimming pool, fenced and secured, shared with another cottage on the property. It is unheated and open from June through September.

We also offer another cottage on the property that sleeps 6 people.
