Canyon Cottage

"The nest" is a magical place in an small oak forest. It is mostly used for writing, art and yoga retreats, but we also like to rent it for those who want to discover it and make nature fully part of their journey.
The amazing natural park of the Gardon Canyons, which we are part of, is a little paradise for nature lovers. Climbing the cliffs, hiking & biking through the garrigue and vinyards, kayaking the river, and very special birdwatching are all easily accessible from our place. (Either a short walk away or a few minutes by car or bike.) We hope that like us you will experience during your stay a bit of the magic of this ancient place.

About the place
The upper cottage has its own private entrance and view of the forest and share the land an old stone sheepfold. It has been renovated in a simple and authentic way to create a warm and comfortable stay where you can relax and feel at one with the place. You can enjoy a great shower and a comfortable bed while being in the middle of the forest.
The upper cottage's private and large deck is ideal for practicing yoga, meditation, stretching, and other physical activities. A small and independent kitchen allows you to cook the delicious and fresh products you can buy at the local markets.
Playing ping-pong, having a game of Frisbee, a barbecue, relaxing on a hammock, reading, the different outdoor spaces invite you to spend moments of introspection and leisure and enjoy the different shared outdoors spaces.

We welcome guests to feel at home on the land and to treat both the cottage and the gardens as if were their own, with great love and respect.

The place is located in a southern France rural village which is about 5 minutes away walking distance. There you can buy your bread and croissants at the local bakery and there is also a café in the square.
During your stay you can hike or bike, visit wineries, wander through picturesque villages and stunning landscapes.
A small undulating road that crosses the garrigue, typical mediterranean landscape, makes the place well connected to the antique city of Nîmes and its TGV (20mn).
Also you will find a great variety of excellent restaurants, charming shops, useful supermarkets and other town amenities in the charming town of Uzès, 10 minute drive away. Uzès is one of the prettiest historic towns in the area. There’s a farmers market on a Wednesday morning with amazing local produce, or head to the town on a Saturday morning where the market sells food, clothes, jewellery and more. The villages surrounding Uzès also host night time markets in July and August with food, wine, music, arts and crafts mostly made locally.

Useful information:
-The place is recommended for kids above 7 years old. While many places are very comfortable inside and outside the house, other are more wild so we prefer parents to be aware.
