Thank you for your review. We checked the cottage for mildew and found a little on the bathroom window which we promptly removed.

A very unusual and unkind review with a lot of inaccurate information. A full picture window by the tub is considered a luxury and something that is only possible in a secluded and private situation. The window is also completely covered with an opaque shower curtain so, for those not wishing to enjoy the view of the countryside from the tub, they can use the curtain. The hot tub is pristine. The landline was down for a couple of days, possibly due to weather conditions on Salt Spring. Telus have been informed and are working on the issue. Sadly this was completely out of our control but we did offer to remain closely in touch with our guests via the VRBO messenger service which we check at regular intervals. The guests stayed one night – they did not leave the day they arrived as stated. The bed had been used and there were soiled towels in the bath tub. There is only one handwritten note, giving some helpful advice for use of the amenities. As you will see from previous reviews, this review is completely out of step with our usual reviews. Many guests thoroughly enjoy their stay in the cottage and recommend it to their family and friends and we have guests who return again and again. We were mystified by this review and contacted VRBO about its contents, since it contains untrue statements and seems to have been written by people with a vendetta – but not sure why this should be the case. Their comments are certainly not reflective of our beautiful cottage. I am sorry you found a few webs - we have now got a new cobweb remover which is far more efficient at reaching the high corners on the ceiling. Regarding the dishes/cups, there is a dishwasher so they are normally very clean. We have replenished the rinse aid in case that was the issue. We do take pride in our sweet cottage.

Sorry you found the pull-out sofa bed uncomfortable. Whilst most find it better than the average sofa bed we will look into how we can improve this. Lots of guests have commented that they find the main bed very comfortable and enjoyed a great sleep. It has a firm mattress topped with a soft mattress topper. We're glad to know that you found the cottage warm, cozy and private. It certainly is a great space to snuggle down and relax.

Sorry to hear you found the bed uncomfortable. It is a firm mattress with an extra topping on it for softness which most find very comfy. We did find a tear in of one of the sheets which was unanticipated since we only use strong, 400-thread count cotton bedding. This has now been replaced. Our cleaner is normally very thorough so I am sorry to hear you found some dust. I am not sure what you mean by the DIY electric switches – all the switches are regular electric switches. Glad to know you appreciated the breakfast items and enjoyed the large covered patio, fruit trees, wildlife and, of course, the private hot tub.
