“Stayed in a single budget room which was clean and comfortable. The staff and owner make you feel very welcome. Good breakfast and well stocked bar - nice pint of Guiness. No complaints and great value. Pay and display car park a stones throw at £3 for 24 hours. No food in the evenings but would recommend the Dolphin chippy down the hill. Made a pleasant change from the corporate hotel chains.”

“Have been wanting to stay here for years and it was well worth the wait. We were welcomed by Christina who made us feel at home and showed us to our room (Ward's Stone) which was immaculate, spacious and has a large bathroom with rainfall shower. The pub was busy (it's obviously popular with locals, a good sign) but there's lots of places to sit so that wasn't a problem. We had a few drinks and had supper that evening. “The hotel looked nicer in the pictures than it was in reality. Very small and worn rooms, which were damp and uncomfortable. The room was very sensitively. No paintings or any color. The bathroom was disgusting with a toilet seat that didn't fit the toilet seat. Very cramped bathroom with an old and worn shower. The double bed was only 140 cm wide. Too narrow for two persons.
