Really bad checkin at the end of a 16 hour day . . . The staff did not know anything about hotels.com and did not see our reservation. They kept telling me "call the company" . . . I showed them the confirmation, showed them the charge on my bank account, but they insisted I had no reservation, they wouldn't call anyone to check and they wanted me to pay again. Their English was so poor we couldn't communicate much at all . . . but here it was, 11:30 at night and they're bickering with me and telling me to fix it. I finally got someone from Hotels.com to call them - an EEnglish speaking employee finally showed up and he talked to the hotels.com rep, and they got it squared away after a half hour. Then the employees gave us keys that weren't programmed for our room, and got very abrupt with my wife when she returned the keys to the desk. They insisted the keys were fine and marched us back to the room - where they found out the keys were not programmed, as we said. They got us ONE new key, no apologies, just brought it over and left.
The room was clean and fairly large but the furniture was horrible, uncomfortable and really awful. The bed was really stiff, and the sofa felt like we were sitting on a back of cement mix. The room had no coffee machine, the soap/shampoo was almost unusable, the towels were rough . . . just a bad experience all around.
