It began with discovering the only parking was Valet and your car was parked on the street. We drove around in circles on one way streets trying to get to the Valet. We gave up and parked far away in a safe area and then tried to get a cab. Good luck hailing a cab in SD. Or a Uber. We had two “no shows”. There are plenty of bicycle cabs if you like that sort of ride. Check-in was quick and uneventful. The hotel was built in 1928 and most of the architecture was maintained. That part was charming if you appreciate historical landmarks. The rooms were tiny. It was two of us with their own room. One room had the bathroom sink in the room with the shower and toilet in the bathroom. Strange. Neither room had a bathroom door that closed. The bathroom doors were warped in both rooms. The renovated rooms were small, cheaply redone, one room smelled musty, and overall disappointing. The positives consisted of a pretty bar, quick check-in, and a noon check out.
