The Coulter House - Historic Villa In Bankers Hill

For the first time, the historic Coulter House, a 1915 marvel by famed architect Carleton Winslow, opens its doors for a unique, once-in-a-lifetime, stay. This exclusive property, epitomizing Mission Revival architecture, is set against the backdrop of San Diego's prestigious Bankers Hill. With its unchanged, opulent interiors and panoramic views of the ocean, it offers a unique stay in a home steeped in cultural heritage, appealing to those who appreciate history, architecture, and luxury.

NOTES:
We do have some requirements for booking for you to be aware of, that help enhance your guest experience and to protect your stay:
• The minimum age to book is 25.
• We are committed to protecting our properties which is why we've partnered with Know Your Guest, the leading vacation rental guest-screening provider. Please note that before your booking begins, you will need to verify your details through Know Your Guest. You will also be given the choice between paying a refundable deposit or buying a non-refundable damage waiver. We suggest you buy the damage waiver as this protects you in case you cause accidental damage during a booking.
• Rentspree application required for reservations of 26 nights or more and be approved based on the report by the owner.
• All homes are equipped with NoiseAware, a third-party partner. This system monitors the level of noise within the home to help us comply with Good Neighbor policies. This system does not record anything in the home – it only measures the volume of noise.
• To be part of the future of the Guest Experience, we provide the Guest Portal, which contains information like door code entry and wifi info, via our third-party partner DACK. This information can be accessed through a downloaded app or through a web link.
• Please be courteous when using the towels and linens. Excessive stains may incur additional charges for replacement. We do provide make-up removing pads for your convenience!
• Lastly, please review our house rules. You will be asked to agree to them prior to booking. Note that some rules incur fees for breaking them:
-No smoking anywhere on the premises ($500 fee for breaking)
-No parties on the premises ($2000 free for breaking)
-No pets ($500 fee for breaking)
-We have technology that ensures that our properties are continuously running smoothly. Please do not remove, unplug, or interfere with any hardware at the property. ($500 fee for breaking).
-Help us keep the place clean for future guests and please remove all trash and place it in the proper trash cans in the parking garage.

A Place to Pause
The pictures don't do this property justice. Everything is as depicted but the impression the house makes in person, is so much more than pictures can convey. It is a return to craftsmanship, elegance and detail. Everything you could hope for is present. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and clearly labeled making everything easy to find. Every surface was clean. The furnishings were period appropriate yet inviting and comfortable. The décor created a definite sense of place. The game room was spacious, bright and full of entertaining options for young and old alike. Outdoor areas welcomed you for a morning cup of tea and good conversation. The location is close to Balboa Park and downtown. Excellent restaurants are close by. The airport is only a few minutes away. There really isn't anything you could want, on the surface, that isn't here. What makes this place different is the impact it can have on you. The best way to describe that is to pass on what happened with my oldest child, who was inspired to reorganize her room when we returned home. Such is the positive impression this space makes. Of course I can't promise that something similar will happen for you, but we have stayed in many nice places, and this simple act conveys makes this house stand out. Your step slows a beat, you linger a bit longer, you notice more. You rest. What The Coulter House offers, is respite. Something we all need a bit of today.
