I want to start with some things that may trouble some people but are not an issue because (a) I have traveled a lot outside the United States in places where is is fairly common not to have en suite bathrooms and, (b) I have always lived in large, densely populated cities where, unfortunately, there are a lot of people living or soending a good part of the day ganging out on the streets. The Mission, particularly Mission Street on weekends is crowded with people selling miscellaneous stuff on the sidewalk, including in fron of this horel on weekends. If these things bother you this nay not be the place for you.
Having said that, the hotel is jept spotlessly clean, quiet and nice smart contemporary decir. The staff were great and very responsive. The bed was very comfortable and the shared bathrooms and shower rooms were well appointed and always gleaming. There is a nice little patio area in the back. A BART station is less tha a block so smAFO is onky a half hour away. And there are some very good restaurants within a few blocks on Valencia street. The rooms are not huge, but when I am in San Francisco i am not there to spend any time in my hotel other than to sleep in a comfortable bed in a very clean room. I'd rather spend the money that I'd spend in an expensive hotel on some of the great restaurants and clubs in San Francisco.
If you want clean, a great location for transportation all over the Bay Area, friendly staff check it out.
