It’s in a fantastic location and was easy to get everywhere from there. Chinatown was basically just outside our door and Union Square a 5 minute walk. We walked to pier 39 in about 25 minutes and to the cable car turn around in about 15 minutes. Literally everything was so conveniently close. It’s no 5 star but definitely a 3 star and we enjoyed our stay. Crazy old cage elevator if you can’t do stairs and the stairway is narrow and steep with a hairpin turn at the top. We truly enjoyed our stay there. We are not fussy people who need all the conveniences of a 5 star hotel either.

We stayed one night here since we needed to be close to the airport for our ladt night.Centrally located and short walk to China Town and Fishermans Wharf. Cool artwork in the room plus the overall accommodation definitely give a NYC vibe - definitely recommend!

Loved the character of the hotel! Art murals were amazing and really added personality to the vintage building. Everything was spotless and organized! Really pleasant stay! Thanks for having me!

Nothing fancy, but it did the job. There were a few bugs (nothing crazy) and the walls were very thin, but the room was basically clean and comfortable. Check in was easy and I got to check in early at no extra charge. The price is great though: would recommend for the mid-picky traveler who wants to avoid the SF hostels.

Room was very cute and quirky. Unfortunately, the TV wouldn’t turn on. At first I was on board with the clawfoot tub but actually using the bathroom was a challenge. Shower curtain kept billowing into water stream/my body and there didn’t seem to be any way to keep water off the floor. Room was also hard to regulate the temperature. I would say this room would be great if you’re younger and not spending much time there. I also feel like the picture shown on the website is the best of the best of these rooms.

I was originally supposed to share the queen with my cousin but she couldn't go, and I have to say it would have been quite crowded with two people. I really enjoyed it except that there is no ventilation, fan or other temperature controlling mechanism. Even with the window open it was pretty stuffy and warm, especially after showering, and I couldn't have the window fully open while changing because others could see inside my room. So it was even more stuffy coming out of the shower. I know SF is usually fairly cold so maybe this is just a new development with unusual temperatures. Still, I can't imagine being comfortable in one of those rooms in the summer. But the place was cute and clean and I enjoyed the location.

This property could really use a deep clean. There is no AC which is fine, but there’s also not even a fan. It’s uncomfortably hot. Their elevator is “temporarily” out of service so it’s a 4th floor walk up. This is really challenging to do with luggage. Their lobby has signs for fresh paint so you can’t sit in the lobby either because the chairs are covered. Finally, their openkey system worked great for checking in but stopped working when we returned at 2am. We tried everything but ultimately had to contact the host who is not on site, and they sent us a new code that worked. Really frustrating to be stuck in that way. There are cheaper hotels that are much better than this so it really isn’t worth it.
