Construction was horrible. Noisy and very outdated furniture in rooms. Bed was okay and AC kept room damp. No ventilation.

The building was dirty due to construction next door. Street was in poor repair. The elevator was not working properly. We were led to believe there was a continental breakfast, but that was not true.

El Canaria is being remodeled and we were sent next door to Abitta.. Abitta is very nice and has very nice and helpful staff. Canaria MAY be taking guests but we stayed at Abitta because my wife has to have a handicap scooter. We never set foot in El Canario

So this hotel is under construction. So they had us stay next door at the abitta. That hotel was great. Breakfast was at the holiday inn express across the street because the Abittas cafe was being renovated. Breakfast was stellar. So i don't want to give el canario a bad review .... it wasnt open,but they accomodated us splendidly.

After a small mishap after we arrived to PR, we booked with El Canario and they took us in right away. We stayed there for the remainder of our trip and we could not be happier. It's within walking distance to great dining, the beach, stores, and night life. Safe area, as well. They were helpful and kind from the very beginning. Highly recommend if you're unsure where to go, it's your first time, or you just want a safe, clean place to sleep. Thank you so much!

Had three nights reservation. After the first night, we wanted to leave because of noisy and dirty room. We ate an expired yogurt ! We asked for refund only for the days we did not stay, but they refused to. So, they charges us for the nights we did not stay. We travel around the world and it is the worst hotel we ever stayed to. Avoid to for there, better to sleep in the car!!!

Canario by the lagoon nightmare stay
Hotel was nothing like described, Elevator was out of service half of the time , smell like mildew, Room was not clean when arrive and they switched the room , there attitude with me complaining to get what I paid for was not acceptable, furniture in room dated from 1970 and rust on lamps and also lamp light won’t work room was so dark you had to open curtains to get some lights, bathroom tile grout was pitch black like a was never clean I post sign to get cleaned and they ignore when complaining they pull a attitude with me
