Our flight arrived in San Juan at 1:00 am. at 11:30 pm the hotel sent a message that due to a problem in Old San Juan they had no water pressure. It was too late to find a new hotel and the hotel didn't offer a free cancellation option. They also said they had no hot water because they use solar hot water and blamed the recent weather. We had booked 12 months in advance to stay 1 night before a cruise. We never would have booked a hotel with no hot water. We wanted to shower off the airplane germs and board the cruise clean with a fresh shave. We paid $250 total for the hotel and they gave us back $75, When we booked the hotel we just wanted a safe and comfortable place to sleep and get ready for the cruise. We didn't need ocean front or a pool because we planned on spending 9 total hours at the hotel. We were very disappointed we didn't know about the solar water and chance of no hot water when we booked. We stayed in February. The hotel itself was very clean. The management was very nice and kind and tried to be helpful. I just wouldn't stay again because we will always be flying in for just one night before a cruise and want to be able to shower. A hot shower is very important to us to feel clean. We've acttualy never even stayed at a hotel with no hot water but we live in the USA and the hotels all have hot water there.
