Beautiful gardens but quite far away from the centre and the rooms could really use soundproofing.

âAfter an almost 24hr journey (door-to-door), this hotel was such a soothing, serene and beautiful place to start out Guatemala trip. Both Nerys and Clare were friendly, helpful and informative about various activities, places to eat, etc. The breakfast was prepared fresh on site by lovely and generous staff - a little too large for us but very tasty. All-in-all, highly recommended! â

âSlightly difficult to rate this one. The room (single room) was a real budget room, clean but not much bigger than the bed. No AC but a roof fan, the small room got quite warm and humid. It was a heavy rain one night and the bath room roof was leaking slightly. On the other hand the roof terrace was lovely, they served a very nice breakfast (no other meals served, but there are nice restaurants nearby) and the staff was great which increase the rating. âEl Carmen Hotel is centrally located to everything you would like to see in Antigua! The rooms are cozy, the A/C is strong and the staff truly care. Everyone is so friendly and hospitable. The views from the rooftop restaurant are stunning and the many options for breakfast are all absolutely delicious. So many options to choose from. My husband & I truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again!â

"We stayed one night to take a flight next day. It really was a very good experience. Location was perfect and the hotel was in a very good shape. What was really outstanding was the pool, inside the hotel but still outside! "
