It took me awhile to figure this one out... first bad review since we opened almost 10 years ago. I had no idea what the smell described was as we have no fire pit and I keep the cottage exceptionally clean. However, I finally figured it out when I was hit with a smell like the one described last night while cleaning the carport - It's the smell of fresh crawfish and shrimp boiling across the street at the new OMG seafood restaurant that just opened last month. As far as our location, most people consider being right next door to Palmer's Restaurant in the heart of downtown to be a plus. After all, you can walk just about anywhere you would like to go from here, except of course San Antonio, which you mentioned was where you were headed. This is a VRBO mapping issue that is highly irritating - our property should have never populated in your search. The Guest House is a cozy 550 square feet, just as it clearly states in our description. I am glad the pictures worked! The wide angle lens is used to maximize the amount of the space in as few shots as possible. And finally, there is a light inside of the wall outside of the back door, not sure how it got unplugged. We are always available for any questions or concerns during a stay. After all, we are right next door :)
