    Fastigheten ligger på en gård och är omgiven av vacker natur och är idealisk för vandrare och hund älskare med direkt tillgång direkt på en av de många omgivande vandringslederna så att du inte behöver köra när du är här. För cyklister finns det direkta cykelvägar från Sandown och tar dig till Newport och Cowes. Det finns ett picknickområde över fältet och härifrån har du fantastisk utsikt över Culver Cliffs.

    Alverstone Nature Reserve och ekorrehöljet ligger nära och är mycket populärt och fantastiskt för naturälskare och fotografering. Vattenängarna ligger intill den östra Yar-floden och har intressanta våtmarksblommor och ryggradslösa djur, särskilt sländor. Ängarna tillsammans med deras gamla grävdräneringssystem jaktas av lammuglar, kungsfiskare och heroner.

    Borthwood Copse är mittemot Lodge och ägs av den nationella förtroendet där du kan njuta av en härlig promenad runt förtjusande gamla ek- och bokträd, soliga glades och kastanj och hasselkropp. Du kan också ha turen att få en glimt av en röd ekorre när de skakar genom träden.

    Den lokala byaffären ligger en kort bilresa från fastigheten, liksom städerna Shanklin och Sandown, där du hittar en mängd butiker, restauranger, pubar, takeaways och sandstränder.

    Newport stadens centrum ligger knappt 6 miles med en mängd butiker, restauranger, takeaways, multi-cinema komplex och 2 teatrar; Medina och Apollo. Carisbrooke Castle ligger också i närheten, vilket är fullt av historia och där du kan träffa slottens bosatta åsnor som har ritat vatten från husen i hundratals år.

    Efter en hektisk dag reser / turnerar varför inte boka in för några holistiska terapier som finns tillgängliga på plats för att du verkligen slappna av och varva ner innan du går ut för en måltid på pubarna i den närliggande byn Arreton eller Newchurch, så behöver du inte ens kock.

    Detta hem är perfekt för familjesemestrar och en härlig avkopplande semester på ön.

A lovely location

We chose this because we needed somewhere suitable for elderly parents in their eighties who are less mobile, and having all the amenities on one floor was essential. We also needed a location suitable for a large dog, it fulfilled both criteria. The accommodation was ample for four adults and a dog, the countryside around it was fantastic for dog walks and close to venues suitable for the elderly parents. The host was friendly and accommodating and there was nothing negative about our stay. I would highly recommend this venue.

Wonderful weekend stay

From the moment we arrived we received 5* treatment. Yasmin was warm and welcoming. Nothing was too much hassle. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch. The lodge was very clean and cosy, and beds super comfortable. There were lots of animals on the farm and Yasmin spent an hour of her time showing us round and allowing our son to feed them. The views are outstanding and location perfect for exploring the IOW. Yasmin, thank you so much. We will return. The Mcleans

Queen Bower Farm Lodge

We had a lovely time at the lodge. It was very clean and comfortable. The garden had artificial grass which was good for keeping doggy paws clean but also access to the owners field. We enjoyed seeing all the animals sheep, dogs, horses and alpacas. There was a footpath from the cottage to The Pointer Inn which we visited a couple of times. We travelled all over the island going to pubs, castles and beaches and it was a good base. Owners were very friendly welcoming us but leaving us to ourselves unless we wanted help.

Lovely place to stay

We enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. Both of us are disabled but I took suction wall bars with me to help me on the toilet and use in the shower. There are quite high steps into the property but I was ok with that. I was a little limited on walking around the property because my walker would not fit everywhere but it did not really impact on us. Lovely quiet place to sleep in but some noise in the early morning from the farm vehicles, which is to be expected on a working farm. The only other comment I will make is that the fridge is very small and low down but everything else was excellent. Yasmin could not be more helpful!

Great value accommodation ,close to beaches and countryside

Cottage owners just next door, very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds, ensuite shower room and main shower room excellent, and ideal for walking the many footpaths and bridleways,and only 10 mins by car to sandown or shanklin. Will be coming back again

Another excellent stay

Our second stay at the lodge. So glad to have found this little gem in a beautiful, peaceful location. The lodge is very comfortable and well equipped. Yasmin is the perfect host & her homemade cakes are delicious!

A Haven

This cottage was absolutely perfect for our weeks stay with my friends dog in October. There is plenty of walking from the door and the vast network of walking trails on the island are only a short drive away if you fancy starting somewhere else. The kitchen is well stocked if you want to knock up a meal. We ate in Tansy the Vegan restaurant in Godshill which was excellent as was The Pointer Inn at Newchurch and the smoking lobster in Cowes. Breakfast and a stretch of our legs at the Garlic farm on the way to the ferry set us up for the day we left.

What a wonderful place. Absolutely beautiful surroundings with plenty of walks. Everything was clean. Host was nearby if needed but not at all intrusive. The resident dogs are a delight.

Fantastic family break

We had a great week. This is a perfect place for families also with dogs. Our Springer Milo really enjoyed his stay and loved the local walks on the many bridle ways and footpaths and local copse. Very short journey to the beautiful beach of both Sandown and Shanklin and the many attractions on the Island. We would definitely recommend and would love to visit again.

Absolute gem!

We had an amazing stay at Queen Bower Farm Lodge in May half term 2021. We had a very warm welcome from Yasmin including the most delicious carrot cakes on arrival. The lodge is well equipped and comfortable (easily accommodating up to five - with lots of space to unpack). Throughout is beautifully furnished with lots of homely touches. We didn’t spend much time indoors but the lodge is well equipped with a smart TV in each room, WiFi and a selection of board games including IOW Monopoly and Farmopoly! Dogs are welcome with bowls and towels supplied. There is a lovely enclosed garden to the rear of the property, perfect for outside dining. There is also seating to the front of the property, perfect for watching the comings & goings of the farm. The owners dogs are very friendly and will come and visit you here if invited. There is more outside space to enjoy in the adjacent camping field (just a few caravans permitted) perfect for outdoor games, a picnic or a stroll to enjoy the views over to Culver cliffs. The lodge is ideally situated to explore the island although you may just choose to stay nearby; there are numerous walks, bridle paths and cycle paths direct from the farm. We also loved just staying at the lodge and enjoying the outside space. We were invited to meet all of the animals on the farm; horses, Shetland ponies, chickens, geese, orphaned lambs and a rescued piglet! We loved hearing the rescue stories and how Naughty Nash (Shetland pony) got his name. My 12yr old daughter absolutely adored all the animals and the farm’s dogs rather become her pets for the week! There is plenty of wildlife to enjoy in the outdoor space and the nature reserve, a short walk away is a perfect spot to see the island’s red squirrels who are well looked after by the locals and are happy to come up close. Queen Bower Farm Lodge is an absolute gem, perfect for a peaceful and relaxing break or a more active walking / cycling holiday. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We can’t wait to come back 😊

The stay was better than expected. A lovely location with the lodge beyond expectation. Located on a farm but still very quiet. I would recommend the lodge to anyone.

Another lovely stay

We stayed at the property last year and were not disappointed with our return this year. Upon arrival, the property was spotless and we had no concerns about the Covid situation. Yasmin , the owner again greeted us with a tray of freshly baked cakes. The property provides an excellent central base for visiting everywhere on the island. There numerous good restaurants within very easy reach. I would thoroughly recommend this property and would certainly stay there again if ever we revisit the Island.

This accommodation is of a high standard. The owners are lovely and have gone the extra mile to add some nice little touches to make the property feel homely, welcoming and very comfortable.They have thought of everything to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Including a plate of freshly baked chocolate muffins, waiting for you on arrival. The property is situated on the owners farm, it is peaceful and has spectacular views across the countryside. It is perfectly situated for walkers and there is a handy folder in the bungalow with many walks highlighted. Everything on the island is within easy reach by car or there is a good bus service just down the road so its an ideal place to explore the IOW. All in all I would give this 5 stars and hopefully we will return in the near future.
