"We have stayed at Villa Gadea for 25 nights over several trips this spring and summer. We have a house in Altea that is under renovation, and we've chosen this hotel for its excellent service and facilities while visiting during that time. Most of our stays have been very pleasant, but this last one was not. It is high season, and it felt like the staff was undermanned. There was mostly a long wait at reception, and the reception staff helped us with a restaurant reservation but booked the wrong date. The restaurant, only half full, was at first unwilling to take a drop-in of four — saying they were fully booked. After a while we got a table, and the restaurant never even filled up to half that evening. But the worst part was the room cleaning. For the first four nights we stayed in the newly renovated rooms, and it was a perfect stay. On our last night we had to move to one of the older (but still good) rooms. When we arrived, we found a lot of long hair on the bathroom floor — I mean a lot — and neither the sink nor the toilet had been properly cleaned after the previous guests. There was even a swimsuit still hanging on the balcony chair. It seems the staff was overloaded due to high season, but that's not acceptable for a 5-star hotel. We had two rooms for the family, and even the second room was not up to the cleaning standards we expect and hav experienced before at the same hotel. We still recommend the hotel and hope this was just bad luck — a one-time experience."

"We have been coming for the past five years and we are very happy with the attractions included as we are a family with kids. However we see a slight downfall in the sense that when we start coming also aqualiandia was included (no longer). Terra Mitica had an uplift however. But now the parking is no longer included (inside) which made the entrance horrible - and more expensive for us as the hotel is located far from the city and it’s a must with parking. So although the hotel had a nice facelift and a few things got better we felt it was more value for money before. Now it’s just getting more and more expensive. With that sense we are still happy with the hotel and as long as the attractions are part of the hotel we will keep coming back as the kids loves the parks (terra mitica and mundomar)."

"A charming and cozy small hotel with a welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast selection is modest but of good quality, and the pool area is pleasant and relaxing. However, guests should be cautious of the uneven tiles in the pool, as they caused cuts to my husband’s feet. The hotel may be slightly overpriced for its overall standard, but despite this, we would still recommend it."

"Bahia Calpe was probably the best hotel I have stayed at in Spain. The room was perfect and clean. Big balcony with a marvelous sea view. The breakfast was the best I ever had in Spain and I do at least one trip every year to Spain. The staff in the reception was great. The people working at breakfast were amazing. And the location of the hotel was superb. Water pressure in the shower amazing. The only 2 bad downsides with this hotel are two. The beds are rock hard. Not a good night sleep at all when u wake up with pain. And the loud atmosphere in breakfast area is terrible. This hotel should invest in some sound proofing materials. Like cushions under chair legs and other textiles to lower the volume in the room."
