âCasa del mundo is very picture perfect but it didn't feel as authentic as some of the other places we visited.
The food was average and quite pricy. We booked massage that wasn't very good, after quite a few attempts we managed to get a bit off money back at least. The jacuzzi was lovely. For unknown reason the paddle boards were broken, but we weren't told why and when we could use them.
There is A LOT of stairs, so if you have issues with that it's not the best place for you. â
âI just want to say this hotel was the best i've stayed at. It was a top tier experience. I lost my money and my phone dropped in the water and they went out their way to get in contact with a boat taxi to get me back to the airport to make it to my flight. I'm so grateful for the experience. â
âCheck-in went very smoothly and the receptionist was kind and helpful. The room was nice, although a little bit dated, but overall it was clean and had good amenities, like a coffee maker and refrigerator. It was within easy walking distance to shopping and dining, and although about 800 meters from the launches (to visit our towns along the lake), it was a level walkâ
âMy kids loved the hammocks! Great location and very friendly. We didnât have hot water, and internet wasnât great, but the modest accommodations were fine for a couple days at the lake. The restaurant is very good.â
âThe hostel is located right at the base of Santa Cruz which made it super easy to grab the lanchas. My friend and I stayed in a private suite which was really nice and cozy. The grounds of the hostel itself are stunning and so relaxing! They host family-style dinner's every night which was so wholesome and was a great way to meet new people. The only cons I will say is that there's only wifi in the common spaces, and wifi doesn't reach the rooms. Other than that, I loved my stay! â
âYou could write a book on all the wonderful things about El Picnic.
Jochen&Gaby have crafted a serene and beautiful experience with some of the most amazing views of Lake Atitlan.
Stellar views, thoughtfully designed rooms, relaxing lounge area, and delicious meals.
It's a glamping experience that provides a great hub for checking out the other lake towns. Easy to get around via tuktuk or the ferry.
Gaby was also so incredibly helpful and always available for any questions, suggestions or...
âIt was low season but we got grate service, upgrade, early breakfast, ride to the closest restaurant when their own was closed.
It is not walk distance to the town, but it was the calm and nice surroundings that we was looking for.
