Lovely home in a great location
This was a lovely well kept home...perfect for my husband and I. We didn't get to enjoy it as much as we hoped because of the rain, but it is definitely a go back to place.

Beach Life
Lana’s place is amazing. It’s a great location to relax, walk to the beach with your coffee and then open both doors and enjoy the sun talking to neighbors. I would buy that place.

Very nice
Stayed 4 nights, really liked it. Very clean, had everything we needed. A few negatives are, the bed is too small, needs a queen size, not a full and a better mattress. Heater (wall unit) makes way too much noise when temperature is reached and turns off, banging noise. Wanted to take a bath but unable to fill with just that shower head, spa in bath doesn’t work although looks inviting. Needs a better coffee maker, dated. Needs a bigger television, 50” would be perfect. Could put that 32” in bedroom. Even with those negatives we loved the place and would stay again and again. Easy fixings.

Funny the bed is a queen size it also states that in the listing ...The coffee maker is not old and is actually a very expensive model it's a cuisinart. The site of the TV is small and does not overwhelm the room. The Jacuzzi tub is not advertised as the jets are not working and I have plans to remodel in the near future as stated previously.

Not all it’s meant to be for the price
When we got to the cottage it seemed to be all that was promised. Cute seaside decor. Nice landscaping. Nice deck etc. We put our luggage away & unloaded our food & other items in the kitchen. after arriving that we realized there was an electrical problem in the living room. The TV didn’t work & an outlet next to the sofa also didn’t work. The light in the hallway didn’t work, but not sure whether that was a bad bulb or somehow related to other electrical issue. In reading previous review, we see that there was an electrical problem before and clearly had not been resolved. We reached out to the manager, & she immediately had her repair person come over. He confirmed an ongoing issue with the electrical in the house, and his only solution to us was to provide an extension cord for us to plug in the TV. this did solve the problem, but made it a dangerous situation to have the extension cord draped across the floor to plug it in the kitchen. He said that they would look into getting an electrician & get back to us, but we never heard anything more.The amenities on the listing say there is a spa, which there was at one time in the bathtub. That no longer functions and the bathtub is not usable - shower only. The manager told us that someone had broken the plug & she hasn’t been able to get that fixed. There’s nothing in the listing. There’s more we would share & feel we deserve a discount on the nearly $350 a day we paid. We are frequent travelers & rarely post negative.

I had an issue with outlets in November and called an electrician to fix the problem and I thought it had been resolved. No complaints from other guests until these guests arrived they found a different two outlets not working...I called my handyman and he showed up right away and was unable to fix the problem. He was able to rigg an extension cord so they would be able to watch the TV from another outlet. They were happy with that solution and wanted to stay. It was Christmas Eve and no electrician were avail to come out during this time. After the couple left it was repaired, they found the wiring between the breaker box and LR outlets had multiple splices which has now been repaired. The other issue they c/o was the jacuzzi was not working..I do not advertise the jacuzzi tub as the jets have not worked for some time and I have plans to remodel in the near future and get a new tub. The plug to the tub was damaged by another guest and I was having problems locating a certain plug that fit the drain. I had ordered at least 4 plugs and none fit. That again has been resolved. I love my little house and spend a lot of time keeping it in tip top shape. I would have given you a refund if you did not want to stay but you did stay...You stated you thought it would be fine and not a problem. My house rents for $199 night plus tax, cleaning and VRBO fees...

Cottage by the Sea

Great place in a perfect location
The Yacht Harbor Beach House is perfectly located to explore our favorite places in the area from Aptos, to Capitola, to beaches (Twin Lakes beach is just down the street), and Pacific Avenue. The house is clean and well-equipped, the enclosed yard is perfect for a pet, and the deck is a wonderful place to read, dine, or simply enjoy the phenomenal trumpet vines and white bird of paradise. We hope to stay again next year for our annual visit to the area.

Wonderful Cottage
We enjoyed our stay at the Beach Cottage!! Loved everything about it! It is decorated perfectly! Spent time on the back deck with all the lovely flowers!! Loved that there were beach chairs and a small cooler. So nice to be able to walk to the beach! We would definitely book this location again!!

Relaxing oasis
We loved our 3-night stay in this cute spot. The private backyard and patio furniture was great for outdoor meals. The bed and bedding was super comfortable. Overhead fans were all we needed to keep cool. Very quiet street; tons of privacy. We appreciated the host's thorough communication and pet-friendly policy. The beach is a very short walk away (at the end of the street). Would love to return and stay here again.

Clean and lovely cottage steps from the beach

Sweet beach cottage
We had a great stay at the beach cottage. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. It's walking distance to the beach and Crow's Nest and the neighborhood felt safe to walk around in. There is a studio in the back that shares the yard with the beach house. It would be super fun to get both cottages with another couple. We will definitely be back!

I rented a few days with my son and we had a wonderful stay. The house was clean and checking-in was very easy. The beach is nearby and had lot of places to walk. I would definitely stay again and I am thankful for the hosts.

Great location
Perfect for two. Was roomy and comfy even though we were only staying to sleep and shower. Quite neighborhood. If I had one negative it was that the bed though comfy, fell to the center so this made it feel small. We are used to sleeping in a bigger bed. My husband rolled to the middle and I hung onto the bed side. LOL! However, we would stay there again.

Charming!
It was all we needed. Adorable home. It was well appointed and stocked with coffee, filters, liquid soap, toilet paper, and laundry soap. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants at the marina. The back porch/ yard is charming. If the weather would have cooperated, I could have spent an afternoon lounging with a good book. There is also a front porch with darling window boxes full of beautiful flowers. Even though the apartment in the back is also rentable; it wasn’t a problem having neighbors so close. Check in/ out was flawless and super easy.

Gorgeous cottage
We were impressed with the property. Very clean and beautifully appointed. Decor was crisp and comfortable. There is a garage at the back of the property that appears to be a rental as well. Shared backyard. Very quiet. Great location for us. Walks to the beach were lovely. Our only complaint, ONLY one was the bed. It was pretty but not very comfortable for us, it was noisy too.

This is a super cute, very clean little bungalow walking distance to beach. Great for a couple. Had hard time sleeping on squeeky hard bed. Was a little strange having another couple and their toddler staying in the guesthouse behind the bungalow. Other than that, very nice.

Ideal space, location for a getaway
Excellent property. I am marking this location as my preferred spot in Santa Cruz. It is an easy, pleasant, short walk to the beach, at least two restaurants, and a coffee shop. Pros: Immaculate, nicely stocked, great amount of space, well-organized and functional kitchen. Pretty much everything we needed was already there. I appreciated the planning on the part of the hosts, from the new dish scrubber to the matches in the drawer. The bathroom has excellent space with a great tub, and the backyard is cozy, relaxing, and beautiful. Cons: The EXTRA squeaky bed, but still comfortable. Power was our main issue. The bedroom only has two-prong plug outlets despite the desk being in the space (not ideal for computer plug-in). Also, no outlet by the bed, but you can work with it using their extension cord. Nothing too hard to manage. I’d highly recommend the space.

Lovely little place. Nice setting
The house was lovely, nice and clean. The lock box was a problem to open. It took several tries to get it open. The only negative I have about the place is the bed squeezed every time you moved and was annoying. Other than that it is great little place.

4th of July at SC Harbor
Once again, the Yacht Harbor House was everything we needed and expected. Our host, Lana, was on sight supervising some repairs and improvements. Quiet neighborhood convenient to everything in the Santa Cruz Capitola area. We hope to stay here again.

a sweet cabin near the beach
It's story-book cute and comfortable and a shirt stroll to the sand. If I were buying a place in Santa Cruz, I'd want it to be just like this. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed cocktails on the back deck as well as a morning tea. We'll look into a second stay if the opportunity arises!

Great place!
Super clean and well decorated in a nice quiet neighborhood a short walk to the beach. Beautiful yards with a nice deck and patio in the back. Lana responds immediately to any questions or concerns. I have to agree with one of the other reviews about the bed and the box springs. Other than that, the place is great and we would definitely return.

Pluses and Minuses
Pluses:: Great location, short walk to beach and restaurants. Cute cottage with large fully equipped kitchen and all the amenities you need. Able to bring both my small fur babies. Reasonably priced. Freshly painted and clean. Minuses: Queen bed uncomfortable. Comfy king would be a big plus. Difficult for us seniors to step over tub into shower but glad there was a bath mat. Yard not completely fenced to keep fur babies contained. The other small cottage behind the main cottage partially shares yard. Short fence/gate for separation would be nice. Suggest only one of the two cottages. be allowed pet at same time.. Larger TV would be nice. Overall, a great place to stay and enjoy the beach with your fur baby.

This is a favorite place to visit. We enjoy the house & harbor for a little vacation. The house is always nice & clean and has such a well manicured lush, lawn. We enjoy walks to the lighthouse & on the beach. Lana is so easy to work with and so responsive!

Comfortable and Sweet Beach House!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The property was clean and comfortable. It was also perfect for our 12 pound dog! The backyard was closed in, safe, and cozy for a nice breakfast and lunch picnic. The property is nicely located to many local restaurants as well as to the beach...it took all but 5 minutes to walk to the beach! We loved it! Thank you!
